Even though this is an old book, it is the last (to my knowledge) of the Rough Guides that still includes Catalunya with Barcelona: I may be wrong, but the more recent guides concentrate on Barcelona. For this reason alone, I think it is well worth a read if you are interested in Catalunya and other towns such as Vilanova i la Geltru and it's wonderful railway museum; Sitges and it's night life; Tarragona etc. All interesting places along the Costa Brava. The historical and language Spanish/Catalan references are also very useful. A bit out of date but well worth reading for anybody who is interested in the region.

Although I knew the book was used I didn't expect it to be so old. The pages are really yellow and we feel that we cannot rely on the information contained in the book due to its age. I suggest that for non-fiction books the date of publication is given to allow purchasers to make a more informed choice. I will not be buying a used book via Amazon again unless the age of the book is made clearer on the website.

This a is one of the best Rough Guides but it could do with some revision.
