What makes Ayrton Senna a perfect role model or inspiration is that he did all these good works without looking for public recognition. He did it quietly, behind the scenes. As a parent and a teaching assistant I am always looking for these type of books to give to classes to read, This would interest the boys and give them something to strive to achieve, the good deeds. This is great for the upper elementary and junior high grades, depending on reading levels. It would make a great biography paper. I am glad I found this over our school break so that I have it when we start back to school.
For one, it was nice to know that unlike today’s commercialized, overexposed, revealed lifestyle where each and every movement of an individual is recorded it was nice to read about someone who didn’t seek publicity for his charitable work. It was also nice to know that Senna was not only a Formula 1driver but also gave thought to the safety of the game and the participants. It was unfortunate that the safety norms he initiated could not be applied to him. It is almost ironic that he died due to the game’s unsafe measures.
It’s these kinds of details that endear an individual to others and it is this information that makes me want to read about an individual whose name I had heard for the first time. The title of the book has been completely justified by the author by interlacing beautifully the professional and personal life of a great individual.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to learn more about Senna as a person or learn about his career and career wins.
Great book and a must read!!
