I gave this to the kids as a Santamas present at Santamas, as it is a good summary in cartoon form of some of the printable nastiness in this most revered of ghastly books. Their still having nightmares and fits of laughter in equal measures. Can't wait for the next 300 volumes to get released....
To the Christian reviewer who gave this 1 star I say, given your reasoning that this is selective, please go and give all the children's bibles 1 star as well, for the same reason. In fact, I've edited your review for you (please read as if somebody is screeching the words in order to get the desired effect):
Speak about taking things out of context!!! Don't be FOOLED, this is not an interesting book for any atheist grand/parent wishing to share science, reason and reality with their grand/children!!!! It is a book written by Christians with the intention of POISONING the young mind of anyone/child who might not believe in the Judeo-Christian GOD and HIS word, the Bible. It is the usual misrepresentation and unfair tactics that Christians inevitably have to adopt in the absence of any reasonable scientific and cognitive input. It is a shining example of just how LOW Christians are willing to go to spread their Jewish/Christian PROPAGANDA!!!!!!! If you are a Christian in your thinking then this is probably right down your street. If you prefer a fair and balanced approach to questioning something, avoid this CHILDISH effort - it's a very CHEAP SHOT and a waste of time!!!!! Atheists should avoid it like the PLAGUE, unless of course you would like to remind yourself of just how PATHETIC and LOW these extremely DELUDED people can go!!!! They need common sense and basic GCSE science read to them like no other!!!!Read more ›
It is intelligently written with a comic twist! If you feel it is failing the bible you must have your bible at hand to see its not taking the Big book out of context! As an adult I would show it to my children and get them to understand the history and the teachings that happening in the Christian world! This book also has explanations in the back for further personal study or with a group of friends!
This book is opening up peoples eyes to chapters long neglected. The theist who is the author of this book must love his bible. And I can see he is creating question that need intelligent conversation!
You must read this book with an open heart and a questioning mind to get the best out of it!
I was asked to change my name before I submit my copy but I will not as I stand by my words and if you dont like it talk to me!
One of the best things about this book is it's list of authors who helped inspire Horus Gilgamesh. I especially recommend looking into the books and videos of:
Seth Andrews, "The Thinking Atheist" on Youtube and his book,"Deconverted, a journey from religion to reason"
Richard Dawkins' books especially, "The Ancestor's tale" & "The God delusion"- which mention so many great books in their bibliography and index that they act like a hub for exploring skeptical free thought.
Lewis Black's book,"Me of little faith"
Richard Carrier's book,"Not the impossible faith" and many Youtube debates
Robert M. Price, also known as The Bible Geek. My favourite books of his are, "The reason driven life" & "The case against the case for Christ"
John W. Loftus,"Why I became an atheist"
Valerie Tarico,"Trusting doubt"
Jerry Coyne, "Why evolution it true"
Robert G. Ingersoll wrote many articles which were skeptical of the writings in the Bible. These are found in many books on Amazon but also the website theingersolltimes
Ken Humphries' book,"Jesus never existed" which examines the case that the gospels are mostly fiction.
