When Derek finds out Nia can’t swim, decides to teach Nia to swim, as he never likes worrying about her safety and wants to help conquer one of her biggest fears. Although that is temporarily forgotten has they have a going away party for her friends and Derek sees all the bridal shower toys she was given.
Nia starts to realise firsthand how ruthless the media can be, and how their past can come into their lives and ruin everything. Nia decides that she hates L.A. and how different Derek is when he’s there.
Just when Nia starts to feel her world crumbling, with all the court cases, ex’s, the media, and things she sees, although she loves Derek, Nia starts to have doubts on whether they can make it work and she returns home and your left with an ending that you don’t see coming.
This is the second book in the Swept Away trilogy and just as good as the first. As this is the second book I urge you to read the first one because A) it should be read in order and B) (most importantly) it’s a great book. Therefore do not read any further if you haven’t read the first one.
Nia Kelly and Derek Pierce fell quickly and hard in love. They have this all-consuming type of love that people can only dream about and that makes others extremely jealous over. Having survived Nick and his revenge campaign against them, they are together and ready to learn more and more about each other.
Being in that new “honeymoon” period, means that they can’t keep their hands off each other and being engaged means a whole lot more pressure from the press and Derek’s fans. As they settle into a routine, it becomes clear to Nia that Derek is two different people depending on where he is and she finds it very disconcerting. Is this a sign of things to come?
As strange things start to happen again surely Nick’s reign of terror isn’t starting again or has someone else joined in the hate party? Can their love survive not only outside pressures but inside ones too and just who can Nia trust??
I can’t really write much else about the book without giving too much away and I don’t like to spoil books for readers but I will warn you now, this is a cliffhanger and I hate them!! The suspense in the book made for great reading as I love my books a little bit dark and with brilliant twists and turns. The sex scenes again are hawt and creative with some things I’ve not read before. I love the trust that Nia and Derek give each other in the sex department; if only this carried on into the other part of their relationship. As usual the writing is brilliant and Julia and Aunt Mary Jane are there to dole out their own brand of medicine for Nia and us. It’s a good job I have the next book to start straight away! Dam you Rosemary (hahaha)
