the 1st album on the D.S.P. Label, and 1 of the best.

this is black metal at its best.

i think that the great thing about this album is that the lyrics are quite prominent and also quite clean. alot of early B.M. has lyrics that are lost.

Though the album is not long, the scheer intensity of it is great. It lets up on just 1 song, but only to make the whole feel of the album more full. quite reminiscent of Reign in Blood for this intensity as the album tries to get out of the speakers as quickly as possible to assault your ears. Sadly this has never really got the acclaim that it deservs(probably due to the Original label and all the problems therein.)

If you like intense metal this is a must have album, you will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Attack! 8 Sept. 2002
By Andrew Williams - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Sadly this remains one of the most under rated Swedish deathrash albums of the late 80s-early 90s period. It came out on the late Euronymous' Deathlike Silence Productions in 1989 and was initially hard to get at all with Euronymous' budgetary constraints and notorious poor management meaning that even months after it had originally sold out he still didn't have enough money for a repress. This situation was rectified a little when it came out on CD in the early 90s and then when Osmose rereleased it with bonus tracks in 1998 (or 1999).
The music is a kick in the face-short songs, vicious vocals which bring to mind "Pleasure To Kill" by Kreator and a relentless energy from start to finish much like early Sadus. At 28 minutes it IS short and sweet but if it was any longer it wouldn't be as good.
Perhaps due to chronic underpromotion and the imminent rise of the Swedish death metal scene (Entombed, Dismember)this one was left buried by time and dust for the few who do manage to stumble across it's path.Definitely worth searching for.

5.0 out of 5 stars a f'n soul burning classic 27 Mar. 2006
By Adam Conrad - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
the ULTIMATE deathrash album.

i'll tone down my language but it's a mother f'n time f'n tested, ultimate, violent, aggressive, manic, g.d. brutal deathrash classic that will leave you either wanting more, or laying in a pile of your own innards wondering when the hell you were disemboweled. It'll sometimes remind me of when Exodus were scary and menacing (Bonded by Blood, and the total riff madness soaked in reverb therein) and Possessed in general with a hint of Sodom but much MUCH more savage and hellish than all three combined, ok maybe not as hellish as Possessed, but indeed more savage and vile. One of the most underrated albums of all time and certainly mandatory for those who know what real metal is like, now why can't i just rate this a 10!??!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Bad ass death/thrash! 20 Feb. 2016
By HellBillyGT44 - Published on Amazon.com
I cannot put into words how much I enjoy this CD. Merciless has packed more ass kicking into 27 minutes than most bands can pack into an entire discography. Buy this slab of death/thrash now!!! \m/

3.0 out of 5 stars Death Trash 4 Sept. 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
No mercy to anyone. This is sick death trash. From start to finish fullspeed ahead. This record is also quite short one just 8 song and 27.19. On the other hand this is actually enough for me. Best tracks are Pure Hate, Dreadful Fate and Realm of the Dark.
