Product description

Review

A marvellous compendium. It is a tremendous book for dipping into and for finding yet another serendipitous piece of fascinating information. The content and the price of the book are right. Like clever clogs I tried to find some howlers to point up, but I couldn't. Royal Aeronautical Society Journal

As someone who has been intimately involved with the restoration of the last flying Vulcan to flight, I have found this book absolutely fascinating as it details the original development of a number of the important and innovative aspects of this famous aircraft. An absolute must for any RAF V-force aircraft enthusiast.

A good book but it has a lot of annoying spelling and grammatical errors. Every Vulcan fan knows that it was XM607 that took part in the Black Buck missions; the book states XM606. Errors like these makes me think I may be reading Vulcan information regarded as true but in fact could be false. Good read though.

There must have been many titles written in tribute to the Avro Vulcan but this is the most comprehensive and technically detailed account to date.
The book gives a real inside feel of the challenges facing the Avro company in the fifties and sixties, the technical design work associated in producing the Vulcan and fascinating detail on the Avro 707 research programme.

This is a book full of new information, however it is ruined by a large number of distracting typographical errors and the lack of an index.

So many Vulcan books have been written, but this is one of the best. A very worthwhile purchase and I thoroughly recommend it to anybody that has even just a passing interest in this iconic aeroplane
