I write books for a multicultural world. My new book 'A Fairy in the Family Again' is about girls, science, baby-sitting and black hair. The characters are Afro-London kids. I used to contribute to BlackHair Magazine when I lived in London and I once did an exhibition in Brixton of Black Barbies who had their hair done by local hairdressers.
My Fairy books were translated into Irish and given to schools and libraries all over Ireland.
I am an auntie not a mommy and I have plenty to say about that. I'm working on stories about Dee and Di the loving but clueless aunties who I introduced in my Communion Copter stories.
At the moment I am creating notebooks with Afro-Irish characters to help raise awareness of Direct Provision in Ireland.
