I travelled a few miles to my local sorting depot to pick up a DVD box set and this bloody thing (pardon the language) wouldn't even secure it. It was only about 10" x 5". I ended up walking back and got soaked.

I have checked it was installed correctly and that I didn't have a 'non-standard' pannier rack, it just doesn't stretch that far and is not adjustable. However the Gentleman above secures a case to his pannier is beyond me...it must be an Action Man briefcase. I'm hard pressed to secure a rolled up coat properly (which I could've done with earlier!).

These straps have special brackets which need to be fitted to the bike. How, I don't know because there are no instructions. With what I don't know either because there is no hardware provided. But if you want something which just hooks onto your existing carrier, this isn't it.

This is a direct replacement for the carrier straps that come as original equipment on Giant Expression models, many Dutchbikes, etc. As such, it's a really useful find, as the original straps lose their elasticity after a few years. The quality is fine and identical to the original product.

If you regularly cycle to work, college, school or the shops and have a rack on the back of your bike, this is a useful product. As pointed out by another reviewer, this type of strap is best suited to shallow items, such as D-Locks, as they aren't hugely stretchy.

I own a 'Giant' Bike, that came with a Pannier Rack, with sockets for just this kind of Bungy. It holds differently shaped items quite securely, and is ideal for its purpose. It comes supplied with universal fittings that would allow it to be fitted to any Pannier Rack.

Have been looking all over for these to replace original that came with Giant bike. Original elastic just went after a couple of years. A bit on the pricey side but ordered with another item so no postage charge. Fits perfectly.

A perfect replacement for the ones that went missing off my wife's Trek Navigation cycle. I didn't need the metal fixing lugs as it fitted the existing fixings on the rear carrier and have just the right amount of tension. They look great and, I feel, are much more safer that the traditional bungee cords.

This Avenir Luggage Strap with Hookplate for Pannier Racks is excellent. It's simple to attache to the bike. I use it to attache around a small case, and it holds it in position and is as solid as a rock. It's absolutely brilliant. Many thanks.

I have a Dutch bicycle, fitted as standard with this kind of strap. I can't speak for this particular version, but they're normally much better than the spring-loaded latch we're used to, more versatile and, very importantly, less likely to let things slip. Having said which, I now ride with panners all the time so I hardly use mine!
