Reactive iron fallout removers are one of the coolest new products to hit the detailing industry in recent years, and Auto-Finesse Iron Out is our addition to this important decontamination stage. Iron fallout (Also called ‘Rail Dust’, though most of it comes from vehicle brakes.) is a growing problem due to industry, mass transit, and increased traffic levels. These tiny pieces of ferrous shrapnel can imbed themselves into practically any surface, and if left unchecked will begin to corrode. Auto-Finesse Iron Out targets and dissolves these particles before significant damage to your vehicle can occur. Auto-Finesse Iron Out is an advanced, pH neutral, reactive gel formula that specifically targets only iron-based contamination. Unlike the harsh acids often used by body shops to remove imbedded ferrous particles, the only thing that has to be afraid of Iron Out is iron! It is suitable to use on all exterior surfaces, including paintwork, aluminium, magnesium, stainless steel, anodized finishes, chrome, glass, plastic, and even rubber. Iron Out also contains strong degreasing agents to help loosen road films, making it a powerful force in the decontamination process.

On a negative note this was poorly packaged for dispatch; it was in a jiffy bag that was far too small and left the nozzle exposed to transit damage. I was lucky to receive intact.
It's a "bleeding" type of Iron fallout remover, so it does the fancy purple bleeding thing on contact with fallout material, which is pretty fun to watch.
One thing to say is that it dried up on my wheels before the 3-5 min recommended sitting time had passed, so I just squirted it lightly again and then hosed it off (not even pressure washed) and it all came away just fine.
I did have some tougher areas of really ingrained fallout, which hasn't been removed by the local carwash guys (even with their fallout remover), and had been left for a fair while. This was not removed on the first or 2nd pass of IO500, but once i agitated it with an alloy wheel cleaning brush and gave it a scrub, this long set brake dust did finally come away and left my wheels looking spotless.
So it does indeed do what it says it does, and I can certainly imagine that with more regular use then every couple of years, this would require very little effort, with nothing more required than just squirting it on, and leaving it sit for a minute or 2 before washing off.
One final note is that the design of the squirt bottle is rubbish. It's been said by others, and I can echo it.
Mine wasn't leaking, nor was it completely unfunctional. It was just awkward to use. The trigger is just badly placed and the head spins in your hand too easily when squeezing. It resulted in me getting this stuff on my hands unnecessarily and as you may have already read, this stuff stinks. I could smell it even after washing them. So beware of that, and maybe where gloves, or decant it to a better spray bottle if you have one.
The product works really well and bleeds when it finds metal particles on your car (see pics). Leave the product on your car for at least five minutes before making sure you wash all of it off, ideally with a jet wash. Be warned!!! "Do not leave the product on and let it dry, you will be left with stains that are a pain to remove". Rinse rinse and rinse again to make sure!
Let's talk about the packaging - very good.
Spray mechanism - hmm! not so good. Took me quite a while to spray on the car and was leaky too while spraying.
This product can be good for cars who haven't been cleaned in months, as for my car there was only few purple discharge as I super clean it every week.
So in all would I recommend this product? - Yes but for very dirty cars, not for me though.
I would also recommend to find something similar with a little less odour, God! Its awful.
PS: This product is for second stage cleaning after washing and drying your car. Spray it and leave it for five minutes and then jetwash your car. Please shampoo clean your car after rinsing it thoroughly as the odour is yucky.
Will be using again in a week or two as I'm going to change the pads and will let them bed in first. Will also try using a power-washer this time. Only downsides are the 'rotten eggs' smell and the rather fiddly spray handle which tended to get stuck.
Went over car again a second time to get stubborn areas and used a power washer this time as opposed to a hose and all rust contaminates are gone, to be honest paintwork is cleaner now as when I bought it.
