Overall for less than a tenner i am well happy with it and it will be with me whenever i go out of town.
Ace product and brilliant service from Digital Daffodil and Amazon.
Charged the charger up initially and took it to work with me to
use on my mobile phone. The phone battery was a bit low so I plugged
it into the solar charger and withing about 30 mins my phone had a
full charge again. The torch is bright and useful, a green light
comes on to tell you the charger battery is fully charged and ready
to use, as it loses some charge just put it in bright light and in
no time the charge is full again. Well worth the money and its
very useful. Various connectors and cables come with it so it works
on a variety of items. Get one if you go out walking or need to
have a charger for several things this will be all you need. Has a
mini usb socket for input and output and cables are usb to mini usb
as well as other types of connectors. Excellent product at a good price
When its internal battery became low it seemed to discharge one of my usb devices (on 30% to 0%) rather than charge it, which is a pain.
Seems OK at picking up solar charge. LED tells you when its charing from solar, but I think the LED is probably using most of the generated electricity. Going to keep in in the car which should mean its ready for emergencies.
Can charge my HTC desire to full when it's full, but the phone knows its being charged at a slower rate over USB, so I doubt it would be any good for keeping the battery topped up when using it as a GPS (this provides 500ma, GPS uses at least 700ma).
Does not have the correct adapter for PSP (though you could use USB charge on the PSP).
LED Torch is OK for emergencies.
After this is done you have a portable charger for your phone,mp3 player etc ect.
Charged my xda phone in 30 mins.
Basically it's a backup system if you cannot get to a mains outlet
And it does this job well
I'm happy with my purchase.
I mainly charge it through USB and then leave it to keep trickle charging itself in a sunny place.
It allows intensive use of a smartphone (lots of snaps+GPS+occasional phone and text and some surfing) during a day of Disney (while I am sure the phone would have run out of juice without this.). It was small and slender enough to fit in a pocket in my moneybelt and use while queued up.
Both on holiday and on my return I have found this a very practical answer to the old "I need a torch but I use it so rarely that the batteries are often dead when I try to use it" phenomenon. When kept in a sunny place in the corner of a window I can just use it as a torch whenever I need one.
But its slim, sexy, and the led's burn FOREVER. We are talking 2-3 days. Great as a nightlight!
Solar panel is decent, just the onboard battery thats weak.
I'm a Treker and Long-Distance Walker, This Item is Great for Carging the AA & AAA Batteries with the Freeloader, Recomendee Product for the Out Door Types!
