The reason why it did not get a 5 star rating was the failing of the biographical story that accompanied the pictures. I am sorry to say that Mr. Yapp should have either done more research into her background or found a reliable source. I will give a few examples. For instance she was not born with the name quoted by Mr .Yapp.(Edda kathleen Hepburn van Heemstra). She was named Audrey Kathleen Ruston and was born a British Subject ( old term for British citizen). The Hepburn name was added much later by her father and she became Hepburn-Ruston. Further she was not called Edda throughout her childhood ( the name Edda was given to her by her mother to disguise her English/ British background while both were in Holland and suffering under the German occupation of that country). Her father's name was Joseph Ruston and not Victor, and he was not Irish or even Anglo -Irish, but British. Also Mr. Ruston(as he then was) was not a banker, although at certain points in his life he did work for financial institutions.
In summation, if you are looking for a very well set out book of pictures of Audrey Hepburn , many not published before , then this is a good book to have and the biography although flawed does give a flavour of her life. If you want something more accurate and with greater depth and feeling then you can do no better than to read the book "Audrey Hepburn an Elegant Spirit" by her son Sean Hepburn Ferrer (incidentally in this book her son has reproduced her birth certificate and the series of British passports that she had through the course of her life).
