In summary this is a great sounding speaker and in my opinion one of the best sounding ones of its type (ie single box) available at any price and if you are considering buying it, you won't be disappointed. It got 5 stars in what hifi and personally preferred it to the more expensive Bowers A7 that I also owned, which is also good. I would describe the sound as being slightly on the warm side of neutral like a good valve amp and highly detailed/ refined. It can also play reasonably loud and sounds good with anything I've played on it from rock to electronic. Strings / piano and female voices sound lovely. Bass is frankly amazing for the size and very well controlled, treble refined and very detailed and nice open midrange. The stereo separation is also good for a product if this type. I guess the biggest compliment I can give this speaker is that it's the one I use the most and when listening one forgets about trying to analyse the sound quality and just enjoys the great music it delivers. Many speakers, even expensive ones tend to cause listener fatigue after a while - not this one! For the more technically minded this is a fully active speaker with electronic DSP driven 4th order crossover and separate class d amp for each driver (though it really doesn't have a typical class d sound). It has 2 x1" soft dome tweeters and 2 x4.5 mid bass drivers. It is also heavy at 8kg and very well built with the back plate acting as a heatsink for the amp. As background I have been into hifi for years and have owned all kinds of expensive equipment; valve amps, high end solid state, expensive speakers money no object stuff - I include this just to show how picky I am! So my main system currently comprised some AVI active ADM9.1 speakers with sub (which also sound great) and I use Apple Airplay and Sonos.Read more ›

Very nice sound. Deserves its whathifi 5 stars. I have had libratone, Bose, B&O etc and have a Naim Mu-So as well as a streaming hi-fi. It's not as crisp as the Mu-So and not as spacial as the Hi-Fi as you would expect but let's get this right - it was 1/3 the price of the mu-so and tbh knocks the smaller B&O and Bose (and thereby the comparable smaller Sonos) for 6! For a single speaker this is good sound - clear across all levels but as with many deep cabinet speakers you need to have it a foot or so away from the wall to avoid bass bounce/over production. Beautifully crafted and a nice interface behind the easily removable cloth cover.

I really like this speaker. It takes about 2 minutes to add to your network and then away you go. It looks great in my living room and lots of people comment on it. It sounds really good and works well with Apple Airplay. I have used it with mac laptops, ipads and even my Synology nas. It is quite cool because friends come around and I give them the network password and then they can stream music right away. The only annoying thing is that occasionally (twice in 6 months) it forgot it's network settings which spoils an otherwise flawless product.

Superb sound and build quality. Real hifi in a compact box. Plenty of connectivity options and was a doddle to set up, I just connected my iPhone by USB and was prompted to use the phone settings, so didn't need to input a password to connect, which it accepted and it immediately worked. The sound quality is the main reason for buying this Apple friendly speaker, it gives a full, rich delivery with real depth and no brittleness. Thoroughly worth paying a bit more for. The supplier shipped immediately for next day delivery, even though I had ticked the 3 to 5 day box. Superb service.

First off, this is a substantial and heavy speaker. It is attractive looking with its leather casing.
It is not easy to set up air play, but it has three backup options: direct cable, usb, and its own 'network' which is neat, and, I think unique - I don't know of any other speaker that has this facility.
Now to the big issue - how does it sound? It is very clear, has good bass and detail, but for me it is too brash and bright, like a brass band. Horses for courses though - you may like that. I prefer a richer detailed sound.
It does have a five star review from 'what hifi'.

All my significant research for my needs had led me to B&W Zeppelin Air, it was cheaper, more popular and it sounded pretty good. However I just couldn't get excited about it, it didn't seem special. The aesthetics looked dated, and the external, non-removable docking iphone/pod station annoyed me and seemed unecessary. It was functional and that was it.

So I looked at more boutique products from Polk, Libratone etc and found the Audi Pro Air One. I've never looked back.

The service was amazing, it even arrived with a 8 year bottle of Burgundy and a genuine note of gratitude for my purchase. Nice start. After I had unpacked (yes using the provided white gloves, I couldn't help myself) the set-up was very simple using both the direct link (no wi-fi required, a useful option) and of course to my wi-fi network. I usually expect my bubble to burst during set-up but no drama here. What was also important to me is that it looks stunning. The hand stiched leather (I ordered white) suddenly makes it a feature of the room.

All this is of course secondary to the main event. The sound. This was my risk, I'd researched but ultimately not listened. I was exceptionally happy at the output which for me (and my family) is largely going to used at the mid range. For a single unit it sounds completely integrated and even, way above my expectations. When the family left me in peace with my new toy, I cranked it up, its strengths came to the fore. Without rambling on I liked it alot.

All the other features are great, my young daughters use it without a problem so simplicity is key and my wife loves the look. It ticks all the boxes & I feel great the Air One comes from an innovative small company who punch above their weight.
