I purchased this item after reading the well-written customer reviews here. I don't have a vast number of cassettes to convert, so I wasn't put off by the problems others have had when converting larger quantities. Also (as another reviewer points out) if you want to buy a machine to convert analogue audio cassettes to digital format, there isn't much choice. However, the Ion USB Cassette Deck does what it says on the box. It works fine on Windows 7, and the accompanying software installed itself on my laptop with a minimum of fuss. The results were excellent. There is a "gain" control on the back of the cassette player, and another "gain" control built in to the recording software.

Delivered in good time and well packaged. Set-up was very easy, with easy to follow instructions.

One reviewer made the comment that there was no automatic shut-off after recording had completed.
Mine did. I just left the tape playing, did other things, then went back and the PC window stated
recording completed.

I'm more than satisfied with this item. It does what it says on the box "Convert your tapes to MP3
quickly and easily"

Arrived after I paid import duty. Which was not stated in the catalogue. Also as it is an import will need a US to UK power convertor, something else that was not made clear. Yet to try as awaiting power convertor.
