HASH(0x891a0e10) out of 5 stars This book is fantastic 29 Jan. 2013

It's a phenomenal, behind the scenes look at the campaign to elect Barack Obama. It's real nitty gritty stuff about Iowa and the high risk, must win strategy. I absolutely loved it.

Loved learning about the campaign from an insider's point of view. Very interesting and worth reading. These guys rewrote the book on election campaigns.

HASH(0x88f7bf60) out of 5 stars Honest, insightful, fun–especially if you plan to work in politics or volunteer for a campaign. 19 Nov. 2013

This book is refreshingly honest and surprisingly informative. I will admit that this book can get a little deep into the inside baseball aspect of running a campaign, but if you have any interest in joining on to a campaign in the future, this book is an entertaining must!
If you are of the opposite political party, it should scare you how far ahead the 2008 campaign was of its rivals' (both Clinton and McCain), and the tactics, techniques, and technology available from this book no doubt served as a wake up call for many future Republican campaigns and their committees.
If you are of the same party as the author, you will be astounded at the level of ability and depth of knowledge you will need to stay afloat in what is likely to be the norm for Democratic politics for the next generation.

The reader gets a clear sense of why the Obama campaign came out ahead of its rivals in 2008, and will no doubt be astounded at the complexity and depth of the political machine that pushed them over the top.
This is the rare book that is far from a love story about the candidate, but really a 'warts and all' review of the Organizing For America campaign from beginning to end.

HASH(0x88f76bd0) out of 5 stars Exciting Read...for history buffs, political junkies and/or fans of President Obama 1 Mar. 2015
By Sheri A. Smith - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
2008 was an amazing year. The race for President witnessed a heated contest between a former First Lady and a Black man who was a rising star in the Democratic Party. Electioneering techniques were pioneered for the first time; the use of digital platforms for advertising and precise voter targeting. Previously inactive people turned out to participate and vote in the election of the first Black President. This book documents that amazing campaign from the perspective of its manager. Its a voice of someone making history as he is caught up in a tidal wave of change.
