Having flown to Athens on a few occassions for business, I quite often "hit the town" so the Gazi nightlife part was of great interest.

It is packed with maps and I was very fortunate to have downloaded it for free.

This book gives a great insight into what you can do and also a great companion for it would be.

HASH(0x9064e24c) out of 5 stars Amazing! Don't go to Athens without this guide. 17 May 2012
By Moe - Published on Amazon.com
As someone who speaks no Greek and has never been to Greece before, I found this Athens tour itinerary priceless. I was in Athens for a week, and used this itinerary to find the best places to eat and the top places to visit.

The guide itself feels long at 76 pages, but once you start reading it, it's a quick read, with lots of maps and pictures to guide you around the city. The guide covers all the major attractions of Athens (and there are a lot of them!).

Piece of advice... only eat food from the recommended restaurants in this guide! I love greek food, but all the places I ate at seemed to be serving bad food - that's because all the tourist places don't seem to care if they impress you. Once I started obeying the recommendations from this itinerary, my entire holiday changed - the restaurant and food recommendations are delicious!

The author of this travel guide owns a tour company - he is easy to contact, and obviously an expert on the city. If you want a guided tour of Athens, be sure to get in touch with him while you are there.

HASH(0x906f15a0) out of 5 stars The perfect way to explore Athens 18 Sept. 2012
By Greenfingers - Published on Amazon.com
We have spend 4 days in Athens in August 2012, the first time I explored the city.

I was very pleased with this itinerary. It was such a timesaver, compared when you have to work on a suitable itinerary yourself. Very handy were the several maps, it was easy to follow the directions. The allowed time at each site was perfect, and the information was accurate. We found the insider tips priceless! There were so many places and suggestions in this guide we would never have found just reading the guidebooks. Even details as subway prices and transportation suggestions on getting down town were up to date. The writer lives in Athens and is very knowledgeable about the city. His e-mail adress is included, and you are welcome to contact him with any question.

I will not hesitate to recommend this itinerary to any friend planning to visit Athens.

Happy travels!

HASH(0x900bf444) out of 5 stars Great Way to Find the Highlights 18 Oct. 2012

I had one day in Athens in September 2012 before hopping on a cruise ship. Since it is such a large city I was so worried about not being able to hit the must see items in such a short time. While that was true, this book was an invaluable resource in figuring out what we absolutely had to see. The timelines, maps, and information was incredibly helpful in making sure we could see as much as possible but still allotting the correct amount of time.

I wish we had more time in Athens, but at least we were able to make a dent with the help of this guide.

HASH(0x9056bb10) out of 5 stars The job is done for you 14 Dec. 2012

This Athens guide was great. It listed all important sights in the city. It would be great if you could improve the quality and detail of the maps (street names, reference points). It does not mean it was impossible to follow those maps. Just that it would be great to have more detailed versions.
This guide saved me a lot of time planning my trip. I do not like sightseeing buses or guided tours. I like to go at my own pace. This guide was just right for me.

Thank you.

HASH(0x90e0e5b8) out of 5 stars Great guide! 15 Nov. 2013
By Susan Clark - Published on Amazon.com
Wonderful guide to a great city! So much great advice- I've been to Athens many times (still have so much to see!) and the itinerary here sounds like the perfect trip. The new Acropolis museum is amazing , restaurants are spot on. I'll choose to disagree with a previous reviewer about Chocolat- yes, it is expensive, but the desserts are to die for. I wish I had had this guide for my first trip.
