Stunt Show: Impress the audience with insane stunts, long jumps and blistering crashes. Design your own stunt courses or choose from a wide selection of ready made tracks
Racing: Be the first to cross the finish line in hotly fought races around varying circuits and grand prix tracks
Wrecking Match: Battle your opponents by any means necessary. Choose between weapons or the crashing power of your car to bring them down
Hold The Flag: Collect the flag from the track or steal it from a foe. Once you get it, carry it through checkpoints to beat your opponents and show off your dodging skills

A COMPLETE BLAST!!! ... but the novelty soon wears off

I'll keep this one short, as all that is required to say is pretty much covered in the title.

This game is BIG TIME fun from the off - you'll be driving around like a complete loon in no time! (and multi-player mode over the web is even better).

However, despite the cars, the tracks and even a track editor (believe it!) you'll still probably tire of Crashday sooner than you expect..

There's nothing much wrong with it - just not quite got the staying power, despite impressive gfx, handling and frankly daft (cool) tracks!

Definitely worth a look - just don't expect longevity from it.

Short lived fun.....

Now i was a huge huge fan of Destruction Derby back in the days of the PSX, it was fast, fun and a complete laugh. Since then theres been nothing like it, StuntMan was fun to some extent just very difficult, and theres been some freeware games but nothings come close to the original DD.
Now this took me by suprise as id heard nothing at all about it, it looked great from the pictures and fmvs but as most know, you cannot judge a book by its cover.
First off is the graphics. They look great, clean and shiney cars, beautifully rendered. The tracks are decent and for the most well designed. Ran it on an AMD64 3600+ Clawhammer with a Radeon 9800 PRO so it ran without a problem and im guessing it doesnt take much to realy run it full whack.
The sound is pretty good, a fairly decent poprock soundtrack is provided but it gets annoying after a while. The soundfx are as good as they will probably get, nothing realy outstanding.
The overall length of the game is the biggest downfall. I played it solid for maybe an hour and got bored realy quickly, since then ive been on once or twice to play the odd rumble but get bored even quicker. Theres just not enough depth to the game. The free for alls in the arenas are all right but the addition of missiles and mini guns kinda make a boring rip of Twisted Metal without the mad fun.
Id have prefered to have the game without weapons, they dont seem to work and feel more added for effect rather than anything else.
The game is good for the most, but again another big flaw. If you intend to play this game on a keyboard you will find the controls sluggish. I used a dual digital pad and it worked great but when i tried the keyboard it was slow and the car didnt respond as well.
I think this definately should be a budget game, its not good enough or deep enough to hit the charts. If you are a big fan of DD or stuntman then go ahead and try it. But i stress the try it part, try before you buy.....
On the whole a half decent attempt at mixing Destruction Derby with Twisted Metal and Stuntman. Bores quickly although it looks fantastic...
