unusual and interesting birthday present. At first I thought it was all about meals, but it has a lot of history in it all the way through. A backdoor into the way things used to be

I cannot keep my nose out of this book even though I just go it today. No complaints here. If you are a food historian or a foodie of any kind you will love this book. It is beautiful and full or primary sources.

HASH(0x8e89cd80) out of 5 stars Thin gruel on the royal table. 6 Dec. 2013
By R. Patrick Baugh - Published on Amazon.com

Interesting to answer the question of how (primarily British) royalty dined both publicly and privately, but in the end kind of thin gruel.
