T.E. Lawrence famously forged a deep link with Arabs and Arab culture. In these days, when so many think there's something especially threatening and mysterious about that world, it's good to be reminded of the age-old principles Lawrence used to establish a rapport with his new allies, and to win his battles. Each chapter takes an episode from his campaigns and outlines lessons for business. Guerrilla warfare, and the use of irregulars are used as a source of strategy for up and coming businesses. The ideas are backed up with occasional glances at ancient Chinese military manuals and modern gurus like Jobs and Branson.

I found this book to be an excellent read from start to finish. It has a mixture of sound business advice for the budding entrepreneur combined with very interesting excerpts from the classic piece of writing by TE Lawrence. The historical comparisons from the past to business strategy of today make the book a fascinating read and a refreshing change from the normal approach found in many business guides. I'd certainly recommend this book.

Exceptional book. I read the book it is based on, Seven Pillars of Wisdom, and I wanted to use TE Lawrence's principles of asymmetric warfare for the Christian life in a teaching article. This book by Hanratty compiles all the principles in one place and made my article very easy to write.
