Product description

Product Description

The new Asus GTX670-DC-2GD5 with Digi+ VRM for the ultimate power control and enhanced Overclocking comes with the Asus exclusive DirectCU II for up to 20% better cooling.

NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.

Up until now, GPUs have operated at a fixed clock speed when playing 3D games, even if they have the potential to run faster. GPU Boost intelligently monitors graphics work load and increases the clock speed whenever possible. The result is that the GPU always performs at its peak and you get the highest framerate possible.

Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.

PhysX is designed specifically for hardware acceleration by powerful processors with hundreds of cores. Combined with the tremendous parallel processing capability of the GPU, PhysX will provide an exponential increase in physics processing power and will take gaming to a new level delivering rich, immersive physical gaming environments.

NVIDIA CUDA technology is the world’s only C language environment that enables programmers and developers to write software to solve complex computational problems in a fraction of the time by tapping into the many-core parallel processing power of GPUs. With millions of CUDA-capable GPUs already deployed, thousands of software programmers are already using the free CUDA software tools to accelerate applications—from video and audio encoding to oil and gas exploration, product design, medical imaging, and scientific research.

Nothing is as breathtaking as playing your favorite games across three monitors. At 5760 x 1080, the expanded field of view fully engages human peripheral vision and provides for the most immersive experience in racing and flight simulators. Add in a fourth display to keep tabs on chat, email or web while you are gaming.

NVIDIA 3D Vision brings a fully immersive, stereoscopic 3D experience to the PC. A combination of high-tech wireless glasses and advanced software, 3D Vision transforms hundreds of PC games into full stereoscopic 3D. Get up to 2x monitor and keyboard brightness with NVIDIA 3D LightBoost technology. In addition, you can enjoy 3D movies and 3D digital photographs from 3DVisionLive.com in eye popping, crystal-clear quality.

Used by the most demanding gamers worldwide, SLI lets you link up to three GeForce GTX 670s together for astounding performance. And with NVIDIA’s track record for fast and frequent software updates, you’ll not only get the best performance in existing games, but future games too.

Blu-ray and HD DVD movies are bringing a new level of movie-viewing experience; with high-definition image quality far surpassing standard-definition DVDs. NVIDIA PureVideo HD2 technology provides unsurpassed Blu-ray and HD DVD movie picture quality.

Power Problem but it can be sorted
READ BEFORE YOU BUY This card is ultimate but at the moment i can't get it to run because i don't have a sufficient power supply. So bear in mind that this card recommends... A minimum 500W Power Supply (with a minimum 12v current rating of 38A.) But the card it's self is amazing. Also I have clocked the card to 1400MHz and the graphics in my 3D software are stunning. The Card is a great build and easy to install but be carful with space, I have quite a big tower and it took me an hour to install as i had to move my hardrives. Another great feature is that the card has a backplate which makes it look nicer (if you care about that stuff) In summary I would highly recommend thsi card but be wary of SPACE and POWER.

I chose the GTX 670 over the GTX 660 for the better performance for price ratio and have not been disappointed. The card barely breaks a sweat with any of the current generation PC titles. I'm most impressed with how quiet the dual fans are -- even under full load.

I've got the card in a Silverstone Sugo SG08 ITX case. On paper the case supports dual height GPUs, but the heat pipes on the GTX 670 protrude a little higher than the allotted space. In the end I had to cut off a piece of the main intake fan enclosure on the case to make room. If you have are planning to put the card in a similarly small enclosure, be prepared to make some modifications.

The first GTX 670 that I received was very unstable. Especially benchmarks such as FurMark and 3DMark 11 would quickly hang, show graphical artifacts or simply reboot the PC. Basically the card would only work reliably when severely underclocked. While researching I noticed many others complaining about similar issues, which suggests Asus may be having some issues with quality control. Thankfully Amazon replaced the faulty card in a few days and the second unit has been rock solid.

I've used the card with both Linux and the Windows 8 release preview, and it works perfectly with both. One problem is that Nvidia's official Linux drivers do not support overclocking, so the card runs at the stock speed instead of Asus's settings.

To conclude, I had some initial trouble getting the GTX 670 going, but after that the GPU has been nothing short of amazing.

Bought a PC earlier this year and needed to make some upgrades for what i wanted to use it for - Gaming. This card has worked brilliantly with my new PSU and have had no problems. Card came in a great box but did not seem to come with any screws which could cause inconvenience if you do not have any small enough however if you are upgrading your PSU as well (like I did) then you should have some screws left over either from your old or new PSU. Only problem i have had has been attempting to install some drivers but i am fairly sure this is down to windows 8 and some other problems that include my firewall, though in the end the drivers were installed successfully so there is usually a way around it. Would definately recommend as a good base graphics card as i have used this to play games such as Battlefield 3 on Ultra and also the Battlefield 4 Beta on Ultra, keeping in mind this is the only graphics card in my system. Thankyou.

First one I received was broke and did not work, and the second one is much better but fails to run League of Legends (a free to play game with minimum requirements) constantly drops FPS,
    hate it.

Purchased this card as an upgrade for an 8800GT I purchased early 2009. I tend to buy near the top end in the hope that I won't have to upgrade every six months/year.

The card was fantastic, handled everything I threw at it with ease. Civ 5, Fallout new vegas, crysis all at 1920x1200.

One day last week my PC locked up, screen went black and nothing. Rebooting caused endless BSOD with an error pointing at a specific Nvidia DLL. I removed the drivers (which were working perfectly up to this point) and windows booted no problem - although at a lower resolution & bit depth. Reinstalled the drivers, BSOD on reboot. Tried other versions, BSOD. Tried in another working PC... BSOD.

Since then I've found a lot of information online about Asus graphics card failing, especially those with DirectCUII coolers.

My replacement will be from another manufacturer. My 8800GT was a Zotac item and I'm now leaning towards a Zotac GTX.

This card is awesome, very fast and very quiet. All that I had hoped for. So why the 3 star review

Unfortunately after a couple of weeks the computer (MB: Rampage IV extreme), would not boot. I tried the card in all four PCI-e slots on the board. Motherboard beeps liked no card in the machine.

Amazon has a first rate customer service, they had a second card dispatched next day delivery. Installed the card, booted first time. From the sound of it this isn't the most reliable card in the world hearing from similar people who have had dodgy cards. But if you get one that works, the card is amazing. Amazon is definitely the place to buy this card as have good customer service (not to mention the best price) and support should you get a card which isn't up to par.

Package was fine, but I excepted a littlebit more power, card had a hard time running Starcraft 2 HOTS on max graphical settings.
I got a Bulldozer 8350 and 16gb ram2133mhz SC run under an Intel SSD Sata3.
Usually around 50-60fps, but in big battles it can drop under 40fps.
I tried only 1v1 multiplayer not even 4v4 or campaign, but well ye low noise and temperature for a high end card.

I play mostly MMORPG like World of Warcraft and Elder Scrolls online and so fourth just so that you know what I am using this for in order to make your comparison. I do not personally enjoy the first person shooter types like battlefield and so fourth which I know are quite demanding, I do not in fact own any such games in those genera's.

This product in my experience is excellent, I run all my games on max settings with no issue whatsoever and I have not overclocked this at all, I run this to my 32" LCD television, Nvidia support is awesome with is pre optimised settings for each game, and the over clocking software as well as fan speed control is very comprehensive and easy to use.

It is a little bulky, not overly so, but if you do not have a full tower just make sure of your dimensions.

    I cannot fault the packaging.

    I cannot complain.

    I am pleased.

I looked at other more expensive options and compared it with my friends system which is exactly the same build minus the graphics card, he went for the 680 i took the 670 directcu II, to be honest we havent found the game that bottlenecks either.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scheda fantastica
Reviewed in Italy on 20 December 2012
