As a lifelong sceptic about astrology I came to Astrology in the Year Zero in a very negative frame of mind. However after numerous recommendations by friends I read it and was extremely impressed. My main reservation about astrology was that there was insufficient evidence concerning true examples of astrological effectiveness in everyday life. This book really made me reappraise my view. Here are examples from many and varied life styles and professions which depend upon astrology for their planning and direction.
I also found a refreshing attitude to the view that astrology is IT. I found that there is an opinion that astrology is one way of explaining the world. It may not be IT but it is a significant contributory factor - there is something going on out there and this may not be THE answer but it certainly provides some kind of explanation.
I should imagine that this book is extremely interesting to those who believe in astrology, but that it is also requisite reading for those who don't.

I highly recommend this book for everyone who is eager to look at Astrology from different points of view. Many articles and their eclectic format provide readers with good questions, stepping points and help us to push and understand the limits of contemporary Astrology. Thanks for Garry Phillipson and to Flare publication for this timely book. - Hakan Kirkoglu, Istanbul
