About the Author
Dom Conlon is the author of several picture books, including the much-loved 'Tiny the Giant' series which showed the world how even a small boy can be a giant. His commitment to storytelling and delight led to creation of www.inkology.co.uk - a website devoted to sharing poems, stories and art for free. Astro Poetica is his first poetry collection. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Set against the magnificent and complimentary art of Jools Wilson, Dom Conlon's words jump from the page and you're never far away from a chuckle or two. Although aimed at young people this book is just as enjoyable for adults, particularly for those young at heart, and of course shared with children it becomes a magical gateway to explore the stars and cosmos.
The book also has two brilliant sections `Things to Think' and `Things to Do'. Both offer advice to young readers respectively helping them appreciate poetry better and offering tips on how to write poetry. These are both brilliant inclusions to a book that clearly sets out to inspire as much as entertain.
Finally, being a fan of print and product I bought the hard back limited edition which I cannot recommend enough. Delivered in hand wrapped tissue paper, it is beautifully presented, individually numbered and, thanks to following Dom on Twitter, uniquely dedicated to me by the author.
This is an absolutely incredible book that I'm very proud to own and share with others. I cannot recommend this enough to parents, children and anyone young or old in love with poetry, the stars and outer space.
Dip in, dip out, shake it all about; this collection of poems is a rocket-powered blast from start to finish. And one of the best things about Astro Poetica is that it gets those wondering minds wandering all over the place, asking the big questions here, going off on a crazy tangent there and everything coming back together in one joyous celebration of the universe. And if your mind hasn't been expanded enough, check out the amazing space facts at the back–brilliant.
I cannot recommend Astro Poetica highly enough, where inspiration, wonder and a beautiful way with words are the stars.
Buy a copy, look, learn and laugh and remember that you, like me (and them) are a star - our elements were made in the fiery furnaces of the universe. Also see if you can spot Jool's cat. It's in orbit somewhere.
