Having played most of the AC franchise, this one ranks quite high on my list.
Starting the game as a young, strong-headed, idealistic Arno, you'll quickly get enraptured with the possibilities of the game, and come to enjoy the life of the dashing character. Nonetheless, as you progress through the game, lines start becoming blurrier, and you'll find that Arno and his story gets somewhat bland, and at times, predictable and dull. The game does make up for it with the views and quirky side missions, not to mention the love story between Arno and Elise, but the game feels a bit outdated, and brings nothing new to the franchise despite being another title.
I have enjoyed myself playing the game to the end, but feel as if there is something missing from the game that would make me go back time and time again to relive as Arno in the midst of the French Revolution.

Love it! I heard tell of some disparaging whispers regarding this game, and i cant fathom them. Ok, backstory. Ac is my favorite game franchise, i love the fact its not shooty, shooty, stabby, stabby, non stop attack! Leeroyyyy jenkinssss!

Anyway, ive played all the ac games up to rogue 3 times, (bored much?) and i can say unity has MASSIVLY upgraded its free running and added a new skill which is so cool, called "disguise". I love the change equipment/armour and the ability to change colours is smashing - for me connors outfit is still the most cool.

Ok the plot... I liked it! I think i loved it at parts, playing as a young whipper arno and his cohort stealing apples (spoiler) and then seeing the two all grown, grinning like cheshires - ones an assassin ones a templar, its a sitcom waiting to happen...

Ive run down rainy streets of paris,
on cafe roofs and dark back allys,
Ive took down templars and broke their power,
And even climbed the Eiffel tower,
Then back down i did fly,
To the mighty eagles cry
The templars they seemed to win,
And tyranny showed its wicked grin
But just when i thought we'd lost it all,
I heard the sound of freedoms call,
A star ascended down from space,
And the mighty eagle showed its face,
I touched the sky and never fell,
And grasped a hold of libertys bell
I stood up in the bleakest night,
And rang that bell with all my might.

I have the full game on PC, but needed to get the ps4 one as well, i think it's one of the best AC games, bare in mind though that to play the multiplayer version on the console you need the plus account unfortunately, unlike on windows where it's good to go out of the box

I've played most of the Assassin's Creed games and in terms of gameplay and visuals, this is still to this day the best title in the series. However, the PS4's hardware holds this game back. As a result, the game is very unresponsive and does its own thing a lot of the time (if I had to guess why I'd say the system can't load the game's assets fast enough so the character goes everywhere). I've had a much smoother experience playing this on PC, so I would highly recommend purchasing it there if you can.
