The Assassin's Creed series is one of the most in depth and well-executed game series around. Assassin's Creed Revelations brings in the originality of the first game, the excitement and expansion of the second and the improved fighting methods of Brotherhood as well as introducing new and fun things to do. A new environment in Constantinople is brilliant and the graphics are once again nothing far from breathtaking. The story is still as intriguing and fun as ever and with the return of the ability to play as Altair (while seeing how his life progressed after you played as him in the first game), new and interesting characters and varying missions you shouldn't get bored; there's a lot to keep you entertained so you don't rush through the story. New elements such as the hookblade and bomb customisation are a nice addition as zip-lining across the city never gets old and distracting guards with bombs is a useful tool. The ability to call upon, upgrade and send your fellow Assassins on missions, which was introduced in Brotherhood, is improved and more engaging than last time. The only drawback to me is "Den Defense" whereby you defend your dens from templar take over, which can be fun, but when you want to get on with other things and nearly every one of your dens is under threat it can be a little annoying. This is a fairly minor drawback though and if you are successful in defending (which can be quite hard to do at first) there is a certain nice feeling of accomplishment when you do.Read more ›

The Game ~ the game is incredible, worthy of game of the year. It's fun, interesting and has lots to do. The hookblade is a welcome addition, making climbing easier and giving the player more ways to kill people. I didn't like the Den Defence; I thought it was really hard and unnecessary, however it is easily avoidable. I haven't played multiplayer yet, but I've heard good things about it, and the additional two characters in the collector's edition is a bonus.
Graphics - 9/10
Music - 10/10
Story - 10/10
Overall - 10/10

Embers ~ this is an animated short film that portrays Ezio as a much older man; I won't spoil it, but it is brilliantly made.

Soundtrack ~ I was a bit disappointed with this. I was under the impression that it was the 'Original Game Soundtrack' as Amazon have put it. But it was just a Best of CD with about 12 tracks which I already have. It doesn't come in a separate case; just in the game case, so I was a bit disappointed with that. However don't be put off; it's still an excellent soundtrack with music from the first game included.

Artbook ~ a bit small, but still a very nice addition to this bundle. The artwork is of the landscapes of Constantinople, character concepts and the multiplayer characters.

Vlad the Impaler added level ~ very fun, a good mission and you get another weapon at the end of it.

Overall I think this is a good bargain for fans of Assassin's Creed :)

I've been a massive fan of the Assassin's Creed series since AC1, and until now, AC2 stood as my favourite Assassin's Creed, and my favourite game. This has drawn equally to it. The Desmond Sequences are fun, and reminiscent of Portal. The story is great, and the Den Defence Singleplayer Gametype offers a nice alternative to the 'run 'n' stab' style that's still working well. The Collector's Edition comes with a really nice box with a shortly interesting opening mechanism, the DLC, the DVD (Embers, which was enjoyable), the soundtrack, which I ripped onto my Xbox and run whenever I'm playing the hugely improved multiplayer. Overall, great package, worth the extra £10, or $15.60. I recommend this game, order it and enjoy!

I normally buy the highest tier collectors editions of the games I feel strongly about although when this game came out I wasn't able to, so I settled for this one. I love the artbook in this one, plus the box has a cool opening method. The in game items aren't amazing and I don't normally do the online content for AC since I won't pay Xbox gold fees so it doesn't really matter to me all that much. I just liked the artwork really :p

If you like the previous Assassin's Creed games you will also like this one.

It is however set in Constantinople (now Istanbul I believe) which is quite different to Assassin's Creed 2 (Florence, Venice) and Brotherhood (Rome). It references back to the first Assassin's Creed game featuring Altaïr as a playable character in some missions.

>> ** ASSASSIN'S CREED 1 DOES NOT COME WITH THIS GAME (XBOX 360) **.
Only the PS3 edition does, which was extremely annoying, but I have the first one anyway (also via Amazon). The game itself is very good and the addition of the Hook Blade is very useful. At first I was not one for it but comes in handy many times. Old Ezio is an interesting character as well.

This Edition come with the game, an Art Book solely on Revelations artwork, a short Anime film titled "Embers" (disc is in a sleeve [?]), soundtrack from previous games including "Ezio's Family" from Assassin's Creed 2 (the disc is included in the DVD, not an additional sleeve as some photos may suggest), and a Collector's Box which opens in an unique way (love it). In addition are codes for the Single player mission (Vlad the Impaler), which is ok and not very long, too dark for my TV, but what you get at the end is worth it ;). I have not had a chance to use the Multiplayer characters (The Crusader, and Ottoman Jester).

Overall this is an amazing game, and lives up to its predecessors, but my favourite will always be Assassin's Creed 2, but that is my opinion as I love Florence and Venice.
