Admirable! You do not have to agree with all his conclusions to see that Wolfe takes us very close indeed to the dark truth about Monroe, the Kennedys and that lonely death in the Californian night. (Anthony Summers, author of GODDESS: THE SECRET LIVES OF MARILYN MONROE)
I want to restate my great admiration for Don Wolfe's magnificent, trend-setting biography of Marilyn Monroe. Mr Wolfe has far surpassed my exhaustive work and even Anthony Summer s' tour de force in 1985. (Peter Brown, co-author of MARILYN: THE LAST TAKE)
Donald Wolfe has written one of the most absorbing accounts of Marilyn's life to date. It is a masterful work. (Fred Lawrence, author of NORMA JEAN)
A quietly written testimony that moves relentlessly towards a conclusion that is both plausible and convincing. (NEW STATESMAN)

To be very enthralling, as an avid collector and reader
Of anything to do with Marilyn I am happy.
Over the years I have read a plethora of subject matter
On her. This is a very well researched and interesting
Study. Which could have been published yesterday
It is that timeless
The book is very easy to read and very well written and the facts are presented in a non judgemental way. Mr Wolfe never struggles to make his case, he has no need to, the evidence is simply overwhelming. There is a wry humour that appears in the writing occassionally which though unexpected is never inappropriate and made me warm to the writer.
One of the most fascinating aspects of this book is the way the writer delves into Marilyn's past and the past of some of the key players of her last days and you can see how they all inter relate with each other and their common bond in their politics.
What I found truly remarkable and concerning was that even now there are forces at work ( and the book names names) who can still squash every effort at getting the case before a grand jury. An absolutely riveting book.
Then i read this absolutely amazing account of her life, Donald H Wolfe goes for the throat to get to the facts, he leaves no stone unturned. I was stunned by the revelations within the book, how people treated marilyn, how hard she fought to become a somebody & what hit me the most, was how hard she yearned for love & a family of her own. This book really does tug at the heart strings & you will need a hanky to catch the tears.
My overall understanding of what actually happened on August 4th 1962 has completely changed.
RIP sweet, sweet marilyn.
Not only does each chapter flow teasingly into the next, forcing you to continue, but each previous account of her life is analised and added to with more recent evidence and discoveries. Donald H. Wolfe's linguistics are equally stunning - a natural writer with a gift for investigation, "The Assassination of Marilyn Monroe" is beautifully constructed and a must for Marilyn (or soon-to-be Marilyn) fans everywhere.
