The author provided a copy of this book to me to review.

This is less of a guide and more of a workbook. Luna provides some exercises to make an author think through what her marketing assets are, what her goals are, who her target audience is and how she should communicate with it.

At the end of the book is a list of extremely useful resources for the aspiring author.

The book is well set out and the exercises build on one another in a logical way. They are not particularly taxing, but do require some thought and will give someone who works through them some good ideas about where to begin with their marketing strategy.

My one criticism of the book is that some of the exercises are not as clear as they might be, particularly the ones concerning the target audience. It was only when I read this for the second time that I realised how it worked. Counterintuitively, I really enjoyed the exercise in which the author is instructed to compare herself with authors who have inspired her. This should lead to utter depression, but is, instead, fun and affirming.

This is useful book for those who are new to marketing their work and will repay the time anyone spends working through the exercises.

Write Your Marketing Strategy… Made Easy!

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review. As an aspiring author, about to publish my first book, I can say with certainty that the author covers a lot of the critical aspects needed in order to be a successful author. An excellent book if you are a new author starting out and clueless about where to start. It’s packed with tips and exercises to really help you focus and map out a marketing strategy that will work for you. The author has really done the heavy lifting… you just need to settle down and follow her lead. Definitely worth adding this to your collection if you are trying to kick-start your writing career.

I wish I had had this when I was still working on my first book. The idea of "building your brand" or thinking about marketing can seem like a pretty distant concern when you're still struggling to get the first draft done. But especially if you're planning to self-publish -- and you plan to sell more than a few copies -- you'll need a marketing plan.

This book helps you come up with that plan, with well-thought out exercises and encouragement at every step. Recommended.

A must read for any aspiring self-publisher or published author. A simple doable systematic guide on getting yourself out there and seen.
Very well written by someone who know what they are talking about and who is doing what they are talking about.

This is such a nice change – someone who is practicing what they preach!

I found this ebook easy to use, easy to follow with easily understood steps on how to write a marketing strategy for those of us who have contemplated or started writing their first (second, third or more) book, novel etc. Ms Luna is encouraging in her thoughts and her writing presence. Her strategy gives the reader good start points and how to go about getting noticed. The author was gracious enough to share her knowledge with her readers as well as some excellent on line resources.

An Absolute Must-Have for Aspiring Authors.

With its well-thought exercises, this book will help you set a pretty awesome marketing strategy, which includes defining your audience and planning ahead. It will also show you how to get an overview of a book’s market situation, kind of like seeing a forest from above. It's not an approach you find in many similar books, and it shows that the author really knows what she's talking about. An absolute must-have!

It’s not a how-to book, though, and sometimes it will lean a bit too much toward an ineffable, inspirational approach, kind of what you’d find on self-help books. I find that cool, but not exactly what I prefer in my education books. Still, The Aspiring Author’s Guide will certainly help all newbie and to-be authors set their goals and get where they want!

I'd definitely read more from this author, and I'm looking forward to next installments.

I love this book! "The Aspiring Author’s Guide: Write Your Marketing Strategy" is a real gem. It contains excellent exercises that guide me to focus on the right strategies to reach my readers. My debut novel will be released three weeks from now and I learned so much on how to get the most out of my time by focusing on the important steps for selling my book. If you’re an author and are looking for an easy to read marketing strategy, get this book. You won’t be disappointed. The step by step guide is easy to follow and you’ll be able to create your own marketing strategy by following the four exercises. I’d definitely read more works by this author.
