Wow! What a fantastic book! Yet another clever and insightful read from Alis Rowe. More helpful descriptions of the meltdown experience and why it happens but also a great section on sensory processing. This is written in such as way as to help the loved one to understand more easily. What I always love about Alis' books is that not only do you get clear descriptions but clear strategies to help you manage your ASD loved ones life more effectively. I will certainly be adapting some of these ideas. Thank you, once again!

Another excellent book from Alis (The Girl With The Curly Hair) very informative and helpful to those such as myself who are on the autistic spectrum and to those wishing to gain an insight into the world that their friends and loved ones occupy. A great accompaniment to the other books from Alis and the CHP (Curly Haired Project).

I didn't find this book as helpful as the first 'meltdowns and shutdowns' book which I found very helpful. Generally the series is brilliant and I really recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have whether you're 40 and NT or 10 and ASD 30 Aug. 2016

Alis has this knack for finding easy and short ways to perfectly describe what many women with Asperger's are living on a daily basis. This book, with its cute illustrations, finally bridges a gap to the Neuro-typical mind in a way they can grasp.

I've had my NT boyfriend read it and he found it extremely valuable to understanding the why of some of the things I do. My 10 yr old ASD daughter said she LOVED it, because it was easy for her to identify with, recognizing things she does herself but never had the words to explain to anyone else as to why.
