I have to admit I loved this book more than the first and that really took me by surprise. I didn't think I would like Sasha but she totally proved me wrong in this book.
This book revolves around Brian and Sasha, two longtime friends and co workers who have an unbelievable bond and scorching hot sexual tension.
Sasha seemed like a total b!tch in the previous book, she came across as cold and detached. In this book she shows her true self and she is not at all what she seems. Sasha uses her work as a shield, she works herself to the bone to hide her suffering and mask her pain. Her life hasn’t been as easy as people seem to think and she tries not to let people in.
Brian is Sasha’s boss at Gamble advertising, he lives in Charlotte where as Sasha lives in New York. Brian is also not at all what I was expecting, he is this totally laid back guy but what we don’t know is he is a complete ALPHA male. He likes to dominate women and he is unapologetic about it.
This book gave me so many cases of the feels, I swear my heart broke for Sasha so many times while I was reading this. I cried buckets at one stage.
This was another brilliant read, Aubrey’s writing style is definitely one I enjoy and the storylines have been totally entertaining. I can’t wait to read McKenzie and Colby’s story next.
This book was 418 pages of awesome! Although this is Book 2 in the series it can be read as a standalone.
Welcome to the highly competitive and fast-paced world of Gamble Advertising……
The story centres on the long friendship and undeniable sexual chemistry between Sasha Brooks, VP of the New York branch, and her now boss, East Coast Regional President Brian Carpenter.
Sasha, or Sasha-B-Fierce as she’s known to her colleagues, has always been career driven but uses that focus and determination to succeed to mask a secret. A secret she is desperate not to reveal.
Brian is your quintessential Southern gentleman and just oozes charm and charisma; yet he is not all he appears to be as well.
They have both secretly harboured feelings for one another for 8 years. When Sasha is faced with very real possibility that Brian may have found someone will she woman up and confess her true feelings?
What do you think? ;)
We follow their burgeoning relationship where admissions are made, boundaries are tested and secrets are revealed.
My heart was in my mouth so many times with this book, especially when Sasha’s secrets are revealed and I really felt for her. I think we could all put ourselves in her shoes and identify with the emotions she was experiencing. We never truly know what is behind someone’s smile but Sasha’s inner strength speaks for itself no matter how much she would try to refute this statement.
Brian may seem easygoing and laidback but he is ALPHA to the core however still has an underlying emotional vulnerability. Phew!! The naughty bits are scorching!Read more ›
I was given this book for a honest review
Book 2 in The Something series and this is Sasha Brooks ( Sasha-B-Fierce) and Brian Carpenter's story.
Sasha has always wanted and focused on having a great career and to all her colleges she is composed and calm l but that is the face she wants them to see, on the inside is a person who fights her anxiety disorder and insecurities on a daily basis.
Brian Carpenter is her boss they worked together until she got promoted to VP of the New York branch of there advertising company. Brian has loved Sasha from afar for the last eight years but he wants more than friendship and he works out a plan to get a friends with benefits package with her.
Will Sasha be able to let go of the control, will she let Brian see the side she hides so successfully .......
One of the things I loved about this story was how the characters made mistakes but didn't always admit to these mistakes making them more real to me, I loved how Aubrey included the anxiety disorder and how well this book was written. The characters have chemistry and you can't help falling for them, the sex scenes are pantie wetting hot but most of all I loved the development of Brian and Sasha as they overcame the issues that come with having a secret affair with your boss .....
Can't wait for book 3
I loved this book just as much as I did the first one. Brian and Sasha were two of my favorite characters from the first book so it was exciting for them to have their own story. Sasha comes off as super fierce in the first book, so it was nice to see a softer side of her in this one. Brian's character is super fun as always, but this story shows a different side of him as well. The both have their quirks and flaws, but it makes the story that much better.
I liked how Aubrey pulled little details from the first story into this one. She did a great job of making them connect even though it's about different characters. The relationships formed in the first book were developed more in this second one. The bits of Josh and Haylee's relationship we get are adorable. I love how cute Josh is when to comes to her.
You can read this story by itself and still enjoy it, but to grab all the good details you should read Tell Me Something first. Not to mention you're just missing out on a great book if you don't. These books are great and I think Aubrey is an excellent writer.
