...well let me just say, I am one lucky man; this bass is simply fantastic.
As an accomplished guitarist, I've tinkered with basses from time to time and even owned a few, but this is by far the best I've heard/played; and by no means what-so-ever the most expensive.
A pleasure to play, the tone is warm and the action is simply fantastic right the way up the fret-board...something which for the price, really is astounding. It stays in tune almost impeccably with some rather vigorous playing; and plugged into an amp this bass just gets better and better...it's flawless and exactly the dream semi-acoustic bass I was looking for.
I can't sing (...or should that be slap?) enough praise and can only say, if you're looking for an affordable bass for recording/gigging/picking up and playing without having to plug in - then look no further.
Trust me, you won't regret it.
Ive only plugged it in once, and the strings are still really new so it was a little bit tingy, but that could be damped, with the sound controls on the bass. there is also a DI input also. Let me also say that all guitars with onboard tuners need a 9V battery, even though it comes with one, ive never known them have any power, so make sure you have one handy.
My purpose for it is just to doodle around while watching some forgetable TV and Its nice to play, action is a little too low as there is some fret noise from the lower end of the fretboard, also if you play any chords on it, it will rattle, maybe im a little too agressive with it, but for me it serves a purpose.
As ive said, I bought it nearly new and saved 45% on the amazon brand new price, I would not pay £180 for it, but upto £100 yes.
This is what "good" is like:
It had news paper inside of it.
The strings are discoloured in a patchy way (black) - Ordered a new set as £20 - D'Addario EPBB170 Phosphor Bronze Regular Light (.045-.100) D'Addario EPBB170 Phosphor Bronze Regular Light (.045-.100) Acoustic Bass Guitar Strings
Small marks on the front and rear.
A bit grubby.
The peg holding the E string popped out a few time - Match fixed this.
It came with a bag that was dirty and had cracker crumbs in it !!!!
If you paid £200 you would expect it to be better (I hope it is) and crumb less but over all it is OK; but I think I will take it to a local shop to get it serviced.
