Jennifer could never have imagined what was going to happen on a normal day when she was late for work. The unthinkable happens and she is left fighting for her life. She tries to rebuild her life but can't help the uneasy feeling of feeling guilty to be alive. She decides that enough is enough and relocates to Haven Cove. It takes a while and a few mistakes but she finally finds a job she enjoys and friends that are there for her. Whilst Jennifer is rebuilding her life Sean is trying to track down who brought this devastation to her door step. He thinks she will want to get revenge on them.

This book was brilliant! There are a lot of things going on in it and it is basically 2 stories that come together at the very end. Every chapter alternates between Jennifer and Sean. There is a lot of action in there and it always keeps you on your toes. If you like a fast paced book then this one is definitely for you. I was a tiny bit disappointed with the ending but only because i didn't want it to end there and needed to find out more. Another brilliant book by Kelly Cozy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very poor ending! 10 Oct. 2014
By Kindle Customer - Published on Amazon.com

I thought the book was very mediocre. I was outraged when the book ended before climax of the plot occurred in a blatant attempt to force me to buy the next book if I really, really wanted to know what happened.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ashes #1 21 April 2014
By BJ - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This story began exciting and interesting, then about halfway through it morphed into Jennifer's everyday life in her new town. The black ops agent was thrown in from time to time, but not often enough for me to consider this a mystery or thriller. Both characters spent too much time speculating on their lives and motives. Not sure I like the ending, although it really didn't end.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ashes a disappointment 6 Sept. 2015
By Daniel Nickels - Published on Amazon.com

This would have been a great story if it had ended, Not a great fan of a book getting interesting, then stopping and you have to buy next volume to get the ending. A true disappointment .

1.0 out of 5 stars What a Tease 14 Jun. 2015
By DenCin - Published on Amazon.com

It is a long book; not terrible and not the best. The worst part is that there's no ending. To find out what happens, you have to buy and read another book. That's unconscionable to me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible way to end a book. 6 Jan. 2016
By richseck - Published on Amazon.com

You read the whole book, looking for a closure of the story and then find the book to be continued in another book. Cheap way to sell books. Entertaining story until the scam appears. I will remember this authors name and never buy another book of hers, nor recommend her to anyone!
