Bought this as a bit of an experiment having played guitar for years, but I didn't want to pay too much in case I didn't take to playing ukulele, so I set myself a £100 budget. I was suspicious about an all-solid instrument for under £100 (too good to be true, surely?) so I placed the order with low expectations but I have to say, this instrument is amazing value. The mahogany is visually very pleasing, the neck is comfortable, the action's nice and low, it stays in tune well and most importantly, it has a lovely mellow tone which to my ear beats some more expensive mahogany ukes I've played in a higher price-bracket. It loses one star because it's not a perfect instrument (the frets aren't all that well dressed, the bracing isn't the tidiest etc), but at this price you shouldn't expect it to be. As a first uke or a step up from an all-laminate, I can't recommend this highly enough.

Giving it four stars only because I'm no expert on ukuleles, and it probably has some flaws ))
But, to be honest, I'm loving my first uke more and more with every day I play it - this is exactly the instrument I have always wanted to play (the sound of the acoustic guitars always seemed too loud and bright), and this uke in particular sounds and feels very warm. The strings set in slowly (first days had to retune it after every 10 min of playtime), but it's probably like this with all the ukes. LOVE it!
