At first, I was a little lost, trying to understand where the story was going, but I think that was only because I'm not used to the fantasy genre. I soon got caught up by the story and enjoyed the changing relationship between Crow and Tanris. I liked the fact that the story was written in the first person and written well. First person stories can fail dramatically, with the author having to fill in the holes in the storyline, but this is so well-written that it succeeds. My favourite character, however, is Girl, whom Crow and Tanris both underestimate - not unusual in real life! I would recommend this to any reader and I look forward to reading more by Robin.

As The Crow Flies is a wonderful fantasy/adventure tale.
Crow is a freelance thief, possibly the best freelance thief ever, or so he would like you to believe. How then, has he been forced to take a seemingly impossible job from a wickedly devious man? Lives are at stake -- most importantly Crow's own life -- and the clock is ticking.
This is SUCH a nice book! The pace is just right, the humour is frequent and well placed, and the struggling relationship between Crow and Tanris is very entertaining.
If you like the nicer side of fantasy, and/or authors like Terry Pratchett, you will love As The Crow Flies.

Brilliant, a very entertaining and well written fantasy. I came across this book accidentally and was hooked from the start, you are taken on an adventure with a thief who is more than just ordinary, he is tasked with bringing back a dragons egg to gain the antidote to the poison that is killing him, he is joined by Tanris, his captor who is there to make sure he makes it back and who's wife is held captive along with crow's lover. It is an epic journey that enthrals the reader and immerses them in the lives of the characters with great ease, I look forward to seeing where the next part of the journey takes me.
