The Best Of John Mayall-Bluesbreakers is a great album for that hit of sixties blues music. It starts with the superb 'Crawling Up A Hill' and goes from strength to strength. You get examples of all the most famous guitarists he had playing with him and hear how tight his various bands were. John Mayall's Bluebreakers were the forming ground for many blues and rock artists of the time and his influence is well acknowledged by musicians and fans alike. This is a great starting place if you want to hear his style and sound and this album tends to be less expensive that 'The Essential' collection also available. If you like this you can progress to other classic albums by the band, as well as a live album, which is an important element of the overall feel of the Bluebreakers. A great selection of tracks and some great blues music a well. Well worth a go.

The great thing about this compilation is that all the tracks were chosen by John Mayall himself.
Another reason this is a fine collection is the list of future `greats` that play on various tracks such as Peter Green, Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood.
Love the ` blue ` tinted c.d. case , not important but a nice touch anyway.
If you like sixties blues then I urge you to purchase this. I don`t think that you will regret it.

Not a bad song on this. A lot of people have written how many amazing musicians play here but I've never really been a guitar head. I just like listening to the blues played well.
Mayall, along with Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac pretty much had the British Blues scene sown up in the late 60s.
And Mayall is still going!
Great stuff.

I have received this cd today only to find it's a manufactured on demand cd (burnt) cd. There is no mention of it being a burnt cd on the website listing

Great discovery - still sounds fresh today and can't wait to see the great man in November. Pure quality ahead of its time.
