Grace loves art. She loves it for herself and in remembrance of her mother who was an artist. Living in San Fransisco there is a wonderful art culture available, getting your foot in the door at a gallery is not so easy or wonderful, however. When an internship application goes wrong and Grace's hot guy run-in turns up at the gallery as a client, things start to get a little crazy.
Charles St. Clair is rich and nice - a rare combination. When he and Grace meet again at the gallery the chemistry just continues to build. But is Grace willing to settle for what life has handed out for her or can she break out and reach for more?
Debut novel by this author which was a good and enjoyable fast paced read with characters you can connect with in Grace and Charles. Grace is really passionate about Art and this shows throughout the book and when she meets mysterious Charles the book really gets going. Charles well I haven't made my mind up about him fully yet but I liked these two together and I look forward to reading more as it was just really getting started in this book. I didn't realize that this was part of a series and so it did feel like just as it was getting started it stopped but I will be continuing with this series and I look forward to see where else this story goes.

The Art of Breaking Heart is the first in a new serial series from new to me author Stella London. A snappy refreshing romance that I couldn’t get enough of and wanted more once I finished the this instalment. This is one author you definitely need to watch out for as she definitely hit this all the ball park with her debut book.
Grace Bennett is a San Franciscan with a dream. A waitress waiting for her break in the art industry, waiting for a job interview that will changes things. Until she does get the dream interview she has been waiting for at a prestige auction house and doesn’t turn out how it plans. If was any other woman, they would be in pieces. Grace isn’t that woman, she knows how to deal with it. She a humble girl, who has sacrificed a lot and she isn’t going to let any opportunity slipped away
Plus it not all looking bad, in the form of Charles St Clair, a billionaire and art connoisseur who recognises the passion in Grace. Their first meeting might of not be the best foot forward for Grace. However he seems to pop up at the right moments and offer a wise word or two.
What is truly his moment,as does ring poor girl/rich guy but Charles doesn’t want to tempt her purely because o f money. He wants her but for what purposes?
An entertaining read that doesn’t disappoint, the author definitely knows how to write. There is an art to writing a serial. You need to give the reader enough information to tempt the read to next book. The author did that and more by quickly setting up the book and giving us characters that we could contact to. I’m look forward to the next instalment
Read this one in nearly just one sitting, too addictive, funny, romantic and sexy <3 It's one of those stories that brings almost every element that will surely make your heart beat a faster beat and your emotions to be running all over the place.
I so easily sympathised with Grace, being in that environment of fighting in every way that you can just so can have a life that bares at least a little easier when it comes to seeing the future. Having to find a job/internship and the way Stella London's writing dusts off every nook and cranny of the raw and intense mindset of being at that stressful part of life? Was made so realistic, that it was easy to relate. I honestly had to give props for how held together Gracie was during the interview.. Just from that alone we get a loud idea of the type of character she is and how she evolves throughout the story. Once she meets and spends time with St Clair - the every sexy, drool worthy and funny hottie - her personality shines through.
St Clair brings such an air of strength and dominance to the story but no in the way that you might be thinking? I mean, he makes up for what we aren't seeing in Gracie's point of view, the idea of knowing that you might be okay tomorrow.. Hopefully that makes sense as I'm trying not to spoil anything? It's a story that brings every form of a mindset and a way of figuring out your choices but from the perspectives of just two characters.. It's breathtaking how well Stella London creates something that I don't often see in many Romance based books.
Easy flowing writing BUT at the same time, it's DEEP. EMOTIONAL. RAW. INTENSE. REALISTIC. SENSUAL. FUNNY.
It made me tear up and laugh. It make me feel anger at all the things that will never really make sense in the world. It also made me feel. FEEL. Such a simple word, but when written with such talent, with a story that I absolutely adored, it turns into something different all together... Delve into THE ART OF STEALING HEARTS and you'll find out what I mean..
I cannot wait to read more of your work Stella London and I cannot thank you enough for being so kind to provide an ARC of this beautiful, empowering and very romantic story!
May I introduce you to the lovely Grace. She is a beautiful, talented, sweet young women that has devoted her live to living and learning the world of art. She has lived and breathed this world from a very young age with the help of her mother who always strived to feed her interest. Grace sees beauty in every piece and does an exquisite job of sharing her thoughts with the people around her.
Grace finally has her big break. She lands an interview with the prestigious Carringers for the position of intern.
Grace does her best to shine but sometimes wealth, power and pull will overpower you no matter how great you are. Grace remains with the company but certainly not in the capacity that she had thrived for.
The beautifully talented Grace still shines through and the oh so handsome and talented Charles takes notice.
Let me no introduce you to Charles. He is a uber sexy, wealthy and a Britsh art dealer that is always on the prowl for the next piece that will set the world on fire. He has a great eye for art the world around him. He soon realizes that he has met his match when it comes to the lovely Grace.
When Grace and Charles meet you can feel the electricity sizzling between them. They are not only physically attracted to each other but the knowledge they each have of the art world makes them irresistible to one another.
I loved the basis of the story and the development of the characters. I am so looking forward to seeing where Stella will take us the reader on the next installment of Grace and Charles's story! I am certainly ready for the ride.
Grace Bennett is a waitress with an art degree trying to find a break in the art industry. When she stumbles into art connoisseur Charles St. Clair her luck begins to change.
I’m feeling a mixed bag with this one. So let’s break it down this way:
What I liked…
Well Charles to top the list! He’s British; he’s dashing; he has an air of mystery to him alongside a striking mix of down-to-Earth and lifestyles of the rich & famous all rolled into one. He’s a sexy gentleman; no hints of a manwhore here which was very refreshing.
I also liked the intrigue aspect of the story. While at first the details of the art world were bogging me down, once I saw the art mystery evolve, I wanted to keep reading to see where it went.
Which leads me into what I didn’t like …
This is not a complete story. I honestly didn’t know it was a serial till I received the ARC. I much prefer a stand-alone of some degree. As it is, this is kinda short and stops just when it seems to be taking off.
With that in mind, I hope the next installment, The Art of Stealing Kisses, has...well a lot more kisses for one! And a lot more sexy times as, again, this part stops just as it is heating up. I’m also hoping to see Grace stand up to that snooty bunch. There were enough instances in this one where I wanted Grace to get a bigger backbone.
For now, I’m interested to see where it goes. It’s fairly upbeat, plays on the Cinderella theme, and blends romance and light mystery. Told entirely from Grace’s first person POV, it has a bit of a chick lit tone to it, unfortunately; but the story has potential.
The Art of Stealing Hearts is Stella London's fantastic debut novel. It was a wonderful read. The story is fast paced story with two amazing lead characters in Grace and Charles. Stella did not disappoint on her first outing.
I loved Grace and her resilence. Her love of art gave a connection to the wonderful mother that she lost. She gave up her dreams to give her mother peace and happiness in her last days. Regardless of her pain, Grace shows determination to pursue a career in the art world. She goes for an internship with one of the biggest auction houses in San Francisco and a chance meeting with the man that would change her life.
Charles St. Clair is a deliciously gorgeous but very mysterious British businessman with a love of fine art. Grace intrigues him and comes to his rescue during her first auction. She finds him attractive and wants to know more about the man with a love of the Impressionist period. So do I! When things go awry at the auction house, I certainly got the feeling that all with Mr. St. Clair are not as they seem.
I'm very excited to read the remaining books in Stella's series and to see the relationship between Grace and St. Clair continue to develop. They have fantastic steamy chemistry and play well off of each other. Grace also has a wonder support in the di Fiores family, especially in Nona who was close to Grace's mother. Fantastic debut, Stella!
