Format: Paperback
As a Primary PGCE student I found this book extremely useful and informative, with sections on how to motivate children, how to manage relationships with your pupils and how to deal with conflict and troublesome behaviour. The book offers useful advice and guidance to help you take charge of a class for the first time, as well as strategies to boost your confidence and reduce stress.
If you only buy one book during your training, this should be it!

Great book. Practical realistic and motivating. Super for student teachers like me. The book is well laid out and easy to read. Highly recommended. Takes the rocket science out of behaviour management.

This book is a most wonderful introduction and handbook to the emotional relationship that goes hand-in-hand with the task of teaching curriculum. There is no doubt that every teacher should have this book at easy reach on their desk - it will become a life-long friend in their career. Refreshingly practical and with a broad reach of ideas. Highly recommended.
