About the Author
Bill Brodie is a conference speaker, teacher trainer, and Director of Brolancon Language Services. He works mainly in the UK and in Germany. He has been a secondary school teacher, a regional educational adviser, Chief A-Level examiner, and External Examiner for the Open University (Initial Teacher Education). During his tenure as Modern Languages Adviser, Bill established the North Eastern Education and Library Board (N Ire) as the most successful local authority in the UK in terms of international links. In 2008, his blueprint for a new languages programme in Primary Schools was formally adopted by the Dept of Education (N Ire). The innovative scheme has been successfully introduced in more than 400 schools. In 2001 Bill received the honour of Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques from the French Education Ministry for distinguished services in promoting French language and culture. In 2008 he was awarded the Europaurkunde by the Ministerium für Wirtschaft und Europaangelegenheiten, Land Brandenburg, for outstanding achievement in promoting European integration within that region of former East Germany.

them look forward to lessons! It is about applying a constructivist
approach, C.L.I.L., T.P.R. and other communicative strategies.
The book is very practical compared with some other books about the same
topic. There are no tiring and long theoretical articles, just a
short introduction to the problem supported with some good experience and
exact explanations. Then everything is followed by a lot of useful examples
of ready-made, suitable activities, together with detailed instructions,
which can be used in a learner-centred classroom to develop learners'
skills and competences in a language. There are variations to show how to
adapt activities to learners of different ages, levels and learning styles
(V.A.K.). These activities predominantly develop speaking skills but also
reading, listening and writing. It depends on teachers' creativity.
