At first when I began to read this book I found it most frustrating, it becomes obvious that C.Roy Hunter(Author)holds great respect for his former mentor Mr Charles Tebbetts, but I didn't feel the need to be reminded of this on almost every page of the book.
If you can bring yourself to ignore this small annoyance ( I suggest a simple self hypnosis technique ) you will find that this book is a world of infomation and a very big help for trainee's, like myself.
The Art of Hypnosis, has everything you need to know, from mastering basic techniques to ethics and potential dangers. The entire book is presented like a college course, enableing you to get the most out of it.
If your learning hypnosis or interested in information about it, then this book is definatly a must have.

This was the first book I bought on hypnosis back when I was curious about what it was all about. There is just enough technical information in there to give you an informed introduction to Hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Layed out in a college lecture style, it is informative, interesting and once started I found it difficult to put down! If you are interested in hypnosis and the therapeutic applications this is a good starting point.

Hunter provides a clear and well structured approach to conveying the importance of client centred hypnotherapy. The techniques in this book are largely an update of those of Tebbett's, yet Hunter provides these as a student of Tebbett's and in knowledge that the original works are largely unavailable and expensive.

I had to pick through this to get the information I was looking for. C Roy Hunter seems a genuine and nice man, in awe of his mentor. The simple fact in the book is creativity+imagination+expectation+conviction is the route to a good way of thinking, being and life. To get this, you have to shut down your left logical side of the brain and talk to the right, emotional side - or distract the gatekeeper of consciousness and go to the subconscious mind. There we are… simple!
