Product description

Product Description

Bones Music Group are excited to announce the release of the debut, self-titled album by Brighton alternative darlings Army of Bones.

Produced by Gethin Pearson (Mallory Knox, The Enemy, We Are the Ocean), the record fizzles with purpose. With the crushing power of their bombastic debut single ‘Batteries, taking in the summery pop of Break Away which explodes into an emotive outro caterwauling guitars, ‘Don’t Be Long’, with its promise “I’m still waiting for you” and the desperate refrain, “Don’t Be Long”, or the shattering “The Day The Fire Went Out”, which carries us into the heart of the fight for life and love.

Such a good album. I have to think back years to the last time I heard such a complete record.

It's like listening to a supergroup - even though, as far as I know, only Smith has been in a successful band previously - but not in that slightly pretentious "we're making technically proficient art now, so forget about decent tunes" way that supergroups often have. These guys are all skilled musicians, the songs are brilliantly put together - and so many stunning songs on one album. I really can't praise this enough. I want to see them live next.

This is superb debut from Martin Smith's (former Delirious? frontman) new band. Intense and exhilarating in places with many tracks featuring some great guitar riffs/solos eg Dead in the Water, Break Away. Lyrically there is a spiritual vibe throughout the album most noticeable on the single River. For those who like alternative rock with a nod to U2 then this will be right up your street. 5 stars

You’re hooked from the very start, with the guitar sound of “Don’t Be Long” almost a seamless continuation of Delirious’ final song, “My Soul Sings”. And Martin’s soul certainly sings on this wonderful album, with crafted words that speak volumes of yearning for God. You’ve heard individual tracks before, on Youtube and other places. Now you can enjoy this Army of Bones rising in ten amazing songs. Enjoy. Be uplifted. Be changed. Thanks, guys.
