Do you know what I liked most about it though? Its boldness. To tackle the situations in this book at the time it was written surely must have raised a lot of eyebrows and a lot of debates. Pushing boundaries in fiction is something I search for, and I found it in this book of our childhood secrets. It's a book for us girls whatever age we may be to read and connect with everything that's going on in it. (thebookgeekwearspajamas.co.uk)
Funny and thought provoking. (booksteensandmagazines.com)
A great book and trip down memory lane. (jilllovestoread.blogspot.co.uk)

I went on to read all the Judy Blume books, but not before I read this one a few times over. It warmly introduced me to a world that I wasn't quite sure how to ask about.
If you know any girls aged between about 8-13 definitely get them this. I'm sure they'll love it, and like me won't forget it.
This book will always have a special place in my heart!
Even 20 years later, it's still a fantastic read, and took me back to being a child again. Well done Judy Blume for keeping me a sane 11 year old!!
For me, 'Are you there God? It's me, Margaret' was just the beginning. I went on to read them all - and at 27, I still pick them up now and again, for some much loved nostalgia!
Buy this even if just for the one liners!

I encountered this on a book list and wasn't greatly looking forward to it - I didn't know anything about it and the God bit in the title was off-putting. Read morePublished 1 month ago by MR ABJ SKINGSLEY
