The projects start slow and easy and build on top of each others. New concepts are usually pretty well explained, but you'll sometimes need to search for more information on the Internet to really understand what's going on. With the spread of arduino there is plenty of documentation out there, so no worries. The schematics in the booklet are easy to understand, although they sometimes don't match exactly with what you get with the kit. I found it easy enough to adjust the drawings and make it work.
The Arduino software sucks really, the IDE is ugly and the connection unreliable. On the flip side, the examples of this kit have already been typed in so one can just load them in a two clicks and upload them to the board. It's not what I was really interested in in the first place, but worth a note I think.
My main gripe with this kit is that not all the components match up with each others. It starts at the very beginning when screwing the board onto the "wood" base (looks like plastic to me). Some pins are protruding from the back of the Arduino board and it just doesn't screw flat.Read more ›
Having download some instructions from another supplier, the Ardunio ones are far superior. I am new to programming there is plenty of information on the web on how to incorporate other items into your project.
All in all, well worth the money, and could be the start of a lifetime's obsession!
I would also like to comment on the quality of the included project guide. It's a proper book, not just a little leaflet, and includes a helpful resistor colour chart and explanations of how electricity works (e.g. Ohm's Law).

Doesn't appear to be genuine. The "wooden board" is plastic" and is missing a hole.Published 28 days ago by james948
A great Arduino kit, if a bit pricey but it makes me feel better about supporting the development of Arduino. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Martin
