Comical Engineer

Don't buy this thinking it's a netbook!

10.2" screen same as a netbook, and it has a keyboard just like a netbook. That is where the resemblance ends. Windows CE operating system is a much cut down version of XP (not necessarily a bad thing, just that so much has been cut out that it doesn't do very much either). The software supplied is basic in the extreme and is only partially compatible with mainstream office products.

Surfing the net? Well, yes, as long as you stick to basic websites that don't use Java or Adobe Flash Player. Unfortunately that's a lot of websites that you really won't enjoy.

Offering the miserable 128MB of RAM and 2GB of flash storage, this machine has little to offer in terms of capabilities.

If all you do is write short, basic documents and some simple spreadsheeting plus occasional web browsing then this just might be for you -- but I doubt it. In my opinion, it is far more sensible to spend another £100 or so and get a decent notebook. Then load up OpenOffice (free download) and Mozilla Thunderbird as an email client (also free) and have a properly capable machine.

More "my first computer" than a serious tool.

WASTE OF MONEY - DO NOT PURCHASE

I purchased 2 of these machines, one for my elderly uncle & one for my daughter of 19. This machine is NOT a netbook. You cannot watch anything animated, youtube etc. Really all you can do is look at Wikipedia and nothing else!!! I contact the manufacturers to see if Adobe or Java (any flash player) could be installed and they informed me that's not possible. The machine had so limited usage, I contacted Amazon and both machines were returned & money refunded. Amazon were brilliant in the returns process.
DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE - can't think of anyone it would be suitable for as it has limited applications.

Fraught with problems

This product is the epitome of why notebooks are on their way out. In just 24 hours usage it has already crashed twice, runs slowly and of course has no actual internal memory space meaning that it blanks itself every time it crashes. This is a lot of work for little gain.

TOTAL waste of money

I bought this 'thing' to take abroad with me, so that I could stay in contact with my family and browse the web. It was ok for chat and browsing but it was incredibly slow, the browser kept crashing, I had to reset it almost every day and the media player is total rubbish as it couldn't display all photos from my digital camera. Furthermore, it appears that there are NO updates available and, whilst downloading is possible to an external drive, almost everything results in a 'NOT A VALID CE APPLICATIION' message. It did the job but very inadequately and I'm glad I didn't pay any more than I did. It's going in a drawer for now, until I decide what to do with it; perhaps updates will become available. My advice: DON'T BUY IT!!

this netbook was everything the seller described...but everytime i wanted to use it the reset button had to be pressed hence the loss of any settings ie.the wireless net. name etc. really it was,nt very good at getting on the net anyway even from just a few metres from the router had to keep it plugged into the mains (battery could be faulty)...HAD TO SEND IT BACK TO SELLER.

very appalled i cant even tell you. it got to me quickley which was great. but i cannot even call it a laptop as you cant do anything on it. no decent instructions. a very poor excuse for a laptop so i returned it.
