Product Description

Product Overview

Ever wished your camera was waterproof? Well don’t worry, you don’t need to go splashing out on an expensive waterproof camera, all you need is an Aquapac. With one of these ingenious but inexpensive cases you can take photos not just in the rain but underwater too (for up to half an hour, to a depth of as much as 5 metres). For just £35.

Catch the splash as your kids jump in the pool. Record your chums sailing, swimming, or surfing. With the Aquapac you’ll be able to photograph safely wherever you want to go, whatever you want to do.

Product Features and Benefits

The Aquapac is made of a thin but remarkably tough material called TPU. Thin enough that you can operate all the controls normally. While the optically-clear LENZFLEX lens material makes for great image quality. Even underwater. Put "Shot using Aquapac” into your search engine and you’ll find loads of images taken by customers through their Aquapacs.

The patented Aquaclip® sealing system opens and closes with a simple twist of three levers. And everything stays in one piece even when open.

The case is quite light - only 164g including the comfortable shoulderstrap.

Extended Warranty/Guarantee

Wondering about a cheaper case from another company? Well what warranty are they offering you? Aquapac combines an unrivalled Full 5-Year Warranty* with exceptional after-sales service. We very much doubt you’ll get anything like it from any other brand.

(*According to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act 1975 a warranty must be described as either “Full” or “Limited”. These terms are very strictly defined. If a warranty isn’t described as one or the other, then beware. Similarly you should beware of so-called “Lifetime” warranties where Lifetime may actually mean no longer than their estimate of the expected life of the product.)

It takes a Canon G12 with the strap and has room to manipulate the buttons
Ideally set the camera screen and programs first before placing into the bag as it is a bit fiddly afterwards

Try to not seal the bag with too much air in it otherwise you cannot reach the buttons or too little otherwise it will not float.
You shoot through the clear plastic area so do get the plastic flat and point the camera through a clear area
I actually checked with Aquapac before ordering in view of other reviews and they recomended this size - so now when I go to sea at least my camera will stay dry even if dropped overboard and if there is enough air it will float.

I also use similar products for passports, mobile phones, VHF radios, handheld GPS etc. Think of the cost as an insurance policy - well worth it. You only have to drown one mobile phone or camera and it has paid for itself.

When I bought this, I thought I can put my Nikon SLR D70 in it.. but I was wrong, the case is too small for it.
The positive side is that I can put my HD camcorder JVC in it, and it fit..just. So at least I can use the camcorder now in the swimming pool for my baby daughter private swimming lesson, instead of buying a new waterproof/underwater camera/camcorder. I've been using it 4 times so far, no problem.

Waste of money if you want to use for diving as impossible to keep lense in correct place. Ok to use as anti splash case when just in water or walking in rivers and near waterfalls

I do not find it very useful as it is difficult to work with the camera zoom.

2.0 out of 5 stars This bag is WAAAY too big 22 Jun. 2015
By Sarah - Published on

I can only give this bag two stars because it is just TOO Big. I even emailed Aquapac, gave them my camera information and then purchased this bag at their recommendation. I have a CanonS120 and it absolutely floats in the bag. In addition, when the camera is too close to one of the edges, the lens can't extend (because at that location the bag fits too tightly) and I get a lens error notice. It is very difficult to keep my small camera in the center of this bag while also trying to manipulate the camera settings and shutter. I am keeping the bag because the return conditions would have cost me about 1/3 of the price I paid, which is not worth it, especially as there is no alternative bag that would better fit my camera. The bag itself is waterproof and seals easily. I will use it for items that I want to keep dry. So two stars for being a waterproof bag, zero stars for working with my camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent case 30 Aug. 2011

This is a great camera case, very durable, definitely waterproof.
Needs a little practice to press the buttons through the case but that is to be expected.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not big enough for Nikon L830 14 May 2015

The case is too small for the compact digital cameras that look like small DSLRs. I have a Nikon L830 and although the camera will fit into the case with some maneuvering there is no room for the lens to expand for normal photos let alone zoom at all. The case would do fine if no zoom video is all you desire. I never got as far as messing around with the water since my camera didn't work in it as desired. Seems like a sturdy case just not the right size. It is almost too big for those smaller cameras yet too small for these compact DSLRs. Really wanted this so I can take my camera kayaking with me but the hassle it would be to get the camera in and out of the case while on the kayak isn't worth it. Also if you went to Aquapacs website for the waterproof rating the 30ft for 30 min rating is not true. The packaging the bag came in advertised 15ft for 10 min.
3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, does keep water out. 25 April 2014

This bag is good at keeping water out. I took it snorkeling and had no water issues. But I will say it is quite difficult to take photos (I have the panasonic lumix GM1). It floats which is good if you let go by accident, but when you're wearing it around your neck you tend to get strangled a bit. In the future I'll probably only use it as a way to protect my camera from rain and water, but I'll get a GoPro for underwater shooting.
2.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work. 30 Aug. 2015

I tested the bag right out of the box by slipping in a square of toilet tissue and submerging 1" under water in the sink. It leaked - just a few drops. The tissue was wet in two little spots, by no means soaked. However, this does not bode well for a deeper submersion with snorkeling. I still think the bag would be useful on a river trip but the product, in my opinion, does not meet expextations.
