Chase is a very wealthy man, not only does he own a school but is also running for Mayor but co runs a business Flex-Steel which is constantly hitting the headlines for unsafe practices which is ruining his campaign. When Chase gets a mouthful from Danielle at the school she has his interest piqued. When Danielle receives a letter a few days later saying her daughter is being discharged from the school she decides to pay Chase Rutherford a visit at his office. The reply to her outburst from him is an appointment, every Tuesday 6pm sharp, in his office, on his desk. Chase knows he is playing with fire because her heart is destined to get broken if she ever finds out his secret but he can't seem to help himself. Can they deal with the aftermath?
This author never ever disappoints me. Lisa Eugene is a fantastic writer of the most sensitive subject matters revolving around mental health or invisible illness and she always gets it right. Sometimes I read books with medical problems etc and authors can get it so wrong making it cringe worthy to read not to mention highly embarrassing for them, so to read this sort of thing time and time again from an author who constantly gets it right is a breath of fresh air and for that I applaud it. The characters as so well written and the story draws you in leaving you wanting more and more. There are also plenty of scenes in this book that are pretty hot and will leave you breathless and wanting more.
I always look forward to see what Lisa Eugene is going to write next because I know I will always be inspired and entertained by her books.
5 stars ✨
Another gut wrenching, beautifully written book!
This story is so very relatable in every way, you follow our main character, Dani and her daughter, Emmy, closely followed by the daunting and gorgeous Chase.
You will take twists and turns and you're heart will break when you read all of Dani's trails and tribulations with her autistic daughter.
She's head strong and stubborn and refuses to take help or accept love, so her world is soon to be turned upside down and inside out when she comes into contact with Chase!
Chase is a powerful and wealthy man who hides a deep loneliness and hurt inside of him but his world and persona comes crashing down when he lays eyes on our beautiful Dani.
There is passion straight away, sizzling between the two of them, raw and undiluted, it's consuming.
But can they over come the pressures of his job and can she let him into her heart and love him?
Will she accept that it's ok to love someone, that the risk is worth taking?
Can he wait that long?
Do they get the happy ever after?

Danielle Carmichael has led a hard and difficult life, but she lives for her daughter and will do whatever it takes to survive. Dani barely lives check-to-check, but sheer determination gets her through the day. Men are not even on the table. After her cheating ex-husband, she does not need the chaos they bring.
Chase Rutherford is an older man with secrets. The hot millionaire runs a successful company, is very charitable, owns a special needs school and is running for Mayor. He has a lot on his plate, the last thing he needs is a young woman with attitude disrupting his life.
Dani and Chase met at one of her worst moments, but all that matters is her daughter’s education. Chase initially looks at her like she is trash. She does not care what he thinks. But he owns the special needs school that accepted her daughter and offered a scholarship that allows her to afford it. When she is dropped from that school, she confronts Chase and is again treated like she does not matter. But Chase and Dani find a connection that neither can let go off.
I enjoyed how the story flowed, after their initial disastrous meetings, Dani and Chase started meeting every week on Tuesdays. They both know it’s wrong, but cannot stop. If they keep it impersonal, no harm can come from it, right?
But with secrets, ex’s and a touch of suspense, did they ever really have a chance This is a good read. Dani and Chase had so much hurt in their past and found it difficult to move forward. But as they spend time together, they find a connection they cannot deny. But with Dani’s insecurities and the difference she sees between them, she struggles to open up to Chase.
Chase was so sweet, and so good with her daughter. Once you see past what he shows everyone, there is such a good guy. And though Dani was all tough on the outside, she was so vulnerable on the inside. Such a sweet story that I truly enjoyed reading.

This was one of the most intense, emotional love stories I have read in some time, and I've read a lot of them! ❤️😉
Where in the hell do I start???? Chase. That man was scrumptious. I didn't care how wealthy he was. I knew he had substance to him. I was dying in the beginning of what his backstory was. I knew his gruffness in the beginning was all part of the sadness he was dealing with. Then Danielle comes. She had him captivated from the first moment he laid eyes on her. That scene in the office when he lost his control, and finally gave in. My jaw dropped. What an explosion of love! Omg! I knew he was a goner. I loved him!
Danielle. What a kick ass feisty heroine with a heart of gold. I loved her! She was the best thing that happened to Chase. I think her feistiness and stubbornness made him love her even more. Perfection!
Emmy. I applaud the author's thorough research into the mysteries of autism. Emmy's character was written perfectly for autism. Everything was pretty much accurate. The hair, the fussiness in her clothes, the rubber bands. Danielle, as a single mom did an excellent job with her. I loved how fiercely she advocated for her daughter. Her teacher was an example of all the dedicated special Ed instructors who look for that potential and encourage them to develop it. With Emmy it was her music. She was a heart stealer. Her concert and her mastery of the piano made me cry tears of joy. Chase adored her.
I adored this story. I have a new author to follow! Thank you! ❤️😉👍
