Anyone who has heard this single and/or seen the video will be fairly assured that Maximo Park are set to be one of the big new breakthrough artists of 2005. Stand aside Bloc Party, Razorlight and The Futureheads because, as quick as The Hives shot from relatively unknown smack bang into the public limelight, Maximo Park are set to crash into the charts and stay there. Already being touted by Zane Lowe, NME and the like, Maximo Park's fresh, stylish yet un-cliched sound will blow you away. I could go on, but just buy the single before everyone else does, you will NOT be dissapointed.

HASH(0x9546f66c) out of 5 stars Catchy jolt rock bodes well for forthcoming album 28 Feb. 2005
By J N Reed - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I heard maximo parks first single, 'the coast is always changing', back in december and loved it. I saw this a couple of months ago and was enraptured. It is a brilliant single: catchy, addictive, good instrumentation, and very cool. Maximo park are one of the most promising acts around and i can't wait for their album to be released in May.

HASH(0x9546f6c0) out of 5 stars Apply Some Pressure lets out steam with bursts of joy 7 April 2005
By June Caldwell - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Apply Some Pressure from Maximo Park jumps and bounces out of your speakers and into your memory like an agile cat. Each of the four cuts is a short shot of energy...no duds. Sparkling beats as relentlessly infectious as the Futureheads, frontrunner Paul Smith's voice dances across blazing guitars with fast changing tempos and melodious harmonies that make shameless joy back in style, tight songs reminiscent of an upbeat Elefant. Irresistible ska beats, sweet sly smart lyrics...and oh, who cares: listening to them in my car, I found myself bopping my head wildly and smiling at everyone as I went by! The title song is a flawless innocent seducer, the Coast is Always Changing and Fear of Falling witty lilting stories that jettison you into romance and relationship stories with so much verve and abandon, you will gladly forget who and where you are, and return to earth long enough to spin the cd just one more time.

HASH(0x9546fec4) out of 5 stars If you like the song, check out the video. 20 Jan. 2006

Generally I'm not too into videos, as I feel they can distract from the true energy of a song, but the video for this track is really fantastic. It's just a frantic as the song itself.

HASH(0x9546ffa8) out of 5 stars The Best Band from Newcastle, Ever 19 April 2005
By Joshua McLeod - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
The four songs on this single are four of the best you will hear this year (until the LP comes out). All of the songs change at least three times in their three minutes and no song ends up quite were it started. Maximo Park truly need to be heard to be believed. Theck them out.
