Purchased these headphones to replace the previous generation of apple's un-ear/ear canal headphones as they had so much use that they were falling apart!

The previous generation were fantastic, the sound quality was fantastic, especially for listening to f.l.a.c and lossless audio files on ipod touch, the noise cancellation was also extremely good and perfect for blocking out engine noises on long flights.

I purchased the new model which featured a completely different design of the buds, and apples iphone remote with a microphone.

I purchased the headphones from amazon as I was not prepared to pay DOUBLE the price from Apple.

The packaging had been much improved and was very high quality (as with all Apple products) included were replacement mesh caps, and spare/different sized buds in a stylish case.

I have found no problems with the design, they are very nice looking and comfortable with the classic Apple white plastic and bits of steel/chrome. They also seem to be very well made and rugged.

I also have to say that they are slightly more comfortable and better fitting than the previous generation.

Now, as for sound quality, this is where I am a little disappointed. One obvious change is the size of the speaker hole itself which is much smaller, this seems to have an affect on the sound, for me they are slightly lacking in bass and open-Ness of the sound, however this is comparing them to the previous model and my taste. However the clarity of sound is much better than the standard headphones supplied with Apple products.

So to conclude, so I think theatre headphones are worth, £60,No.
However they are still very high quality with excellent sound Isolation, comfort, looks and functionality, but if you like your music loud and with lots of bass, I don't think these are for you.

I also own a pair of sensheiser CX-300 II which have an incredible bass response and sound quality for the price of around £20 which are absolutely fantastic value for money!

Apple headphones never stick in my ears so i bought these. The stayed in for a while but after some time they began to fall out. The buds get dirty very quickly. They feel flimsy and shouldn't have the Apple mark on them as a result
