Useful information, nothing new learnt, paperback was rather flimsy, and for the price was expecting a little more quality wise

A very fast-reading short book from Charles River's Editors and as enjoyable a read as almost all their books.
An account of space missions surrounding the flight of Apollo 11 are included for continuity.

I was expecting a rather dry account of the Apollo 11 mission
but I learned that there were many difficulties getting to the moon and back.

I liked this book a lot, it is a good read for children of ages 9-12. The graphics are really good.

This author has not proofread his book. Errors galore. However, the most glaring error is his statement of "the dark side of the moon." Are you kidding? Somebody purporting to write about space as an "expert" states that the moon's far side is its "dark side". Inexcusable idiot!!! That's not a typo. That's total stupidity. WE SEE the moon's dark side on THIS side. We call it a New Moon. This idiot of an inexcusable author just wrecked his credibility. It gets worse. He says ground control told Aldrin to not lock the door behind him as he stepped outside the LM. Not true. Aldrin himself, as a joke, said he'll try not to lock the door and Armstrong got it.
The reason I'm not giving this idiot a single star is because he actually taught me something. I never knew that Gemini was being prepped to go to the moon. That's news. I hope it's true. With this idiotic author who can't get the MOST BASIC facts right, it may not be true but only a figment of his imagination. Three stars, no more.
