This book however I just had to finish it and did so in two sittings, its different but well worth a read. Its got an element of true love, healing, lust and a dark side due to Sydneys upbringing with her abusive mother but it has a surprising twist and I'm glad I read it.
It just reminded me so much of "Ghost", these even a happily ever after ending too!
Please give it a try :)
I was able to feel every single emotion sidney felt while she took us on her journey of going from a shy and scared girl, to a strong self confident woman.
She hasn't had an easy life. Far from it. And the courage and strengh she shows in dealing with her issues shows more and more as you get lost in her world.
When she meets her neighbour and falls in love. He's there for her through thick and thin. No questions asked.
I give this book 5 stars (more if i could) it reduced me to tears in the end, and THAT is hard to do for me! So what are you waiting for? Click "BUY NOW" you won't be disappointed.
This book, however, was subtle.
It started of cataloguing a horrific scene between Sidney and her mother which immediately made me feel empathic towards Sidney. Whatever was going to happen in the book, I wanted it to have a good outcome for Sidney.
So from practically page one, I loved Sidney. She was weird, she was a bit nuts but she was determined to get on with her life.
Liam and Lane were good characters, good for Sidney.
I enjoyed the easy writing style of the author and would definitely check out more work from K. Webster.
I wasn't really sure what to expect but I had read great reviews on numerous blogs so thought I would broaden my horizons. I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. Sidney has suffered at the hands of her abusive Mother but she shows extreme bravery and strength to get over this with the help of Liam and Lane. These two men make you love them and wonder what on earth is happening!!
I don't want to give too much away so I'll end by saying that I will now be open to reading more of this genre so thanks to author K Webster for opening my mind to enjoy the unknown.
Sure, it stars a broken girl, Sidney, who was broken by her insane mother. Her mother's physical and mental abuse knew no bounds. Sidney bears the physical and mental scars to prove it.
When her mother unexpectedly dies, Sidney suddenly finds herself on her own for the first time in her 21 years. Thankfully, she meets a helpful counselor, and with her help, is able to get a job looking after an elderly woman. The job comes with free room and board, and it is there she first meets Liam. He resides in the apartment next to her.
Liam is able to breach Sidney's walls, at least as much as anyone had ever been able to. Sidney cannot stand to be touched, and Liam understands where she's coming from. They manage to find a way to be close in spite of everything. Although they never actually touch, they become as intimate as Sidney has ever been with anyone.
But there is more going on here than it first appears. Liam seems to have secrets of his own. Will he and Sidney find a way to a happy ending? I cannot tell you what happens, but I can tell you there is a shocking twist in this book that I never saw coming. However, in hindsight, it was pretty obvious. The author really managed to create a new and interesting way to tell this story.
Although this novel certainly had it's dark moments, I would hesitate to call it a dark romance. I really loved Sidney and hated the pain she was going through because of her hateful mother. I cheered when Sidney made progress in her journey to wholeness.Read more ›

Not much explanation - well a very quick one. Also not very fluid whilst reading especially from about 70 percent in. Felt rushed. Real shame as it started well.Published 6 months ago by Aimee
