While Maggie is away at a Euro Conference, Denis invites two of his drinking friends for a weekend at Chequers. Things start to go badly wrong when Maggie returns home unexpectedly and mistakes Denis friends for EEC Commissioners. Denis weekend is ruined by the ensuing confusion. We saw this many years ago as a stage play and were pleased to find it as a DVD. It is every bit as good. Angela Thorne as Maggie is really good. You probably need to have been around when Maggie was in power to enjoy this, with all the snide comments about the happenings of that era.

Angela Thorne does a fantastic impression of Maggie Thatcher complete with handbag and her awful droning voice. John Wells does an equally good character act as her buffoon husband Denis with expressions and actions that are hilarious. If you want comedy that's British and inoffensive then this makes ideal viewing and is comedy at its absolute BEST!!

Although I have a good command of the English language I found it extremely difficult to understand the actor who played Denis (I passed the Cambridge certificate of Proficiency in English ). All the other actors were no problem. So: I missed subtitles to understand Denis!
