'Anyone' is a YA post-apocalyptic book. Tessa has a 'prepper' father who has built a bunker in his backgarden. When the sky starts to rain fire, Tessa finds herself being locked in the bunker with her father telling her to stay put until he comes back. The problem is that he doesn't. She manages a couple of months in the bunker, and then emerges to find everyone in the city gone. Well, not quite everyone. She does meet an enigmatic, if somewhat irritated young man named Cole, and this is where things get interesting! Together, they try to track down Tessa's family.
I can't really say much more without giving spoilers, but there is a great twist that sent shivers down my spine! The whole book is filled with tension and I flipped the pages (or at least scrolled my kindle) desperate to find out what happens.
I can't wait for the next book. Hurry up and write it please, Angela!
The story a long the way has the expected struggles and the plot thickens with a few suprising twists. I think there wasn't quite enough detail that went into some of the peoples looks, which I found frustrating as I couldn't really imagine them properly until much later. But that really was it's only fault for me. Its different from a lot of the destopian novels as it has a bit of mystery to it. I'm looking forward to reading the next one as I have no idea how its going to continue and eventually end.
