NEGATIVE: However, when printed out, the foundation-pieced blocks are NOT separated by their individual units, and their is no 1/4 inch seam allowance printed around each square. This immediately affects accuracy and means that my star points would get "eaten up" in the seam line. In fact, a closer look at the cover page photo shows mismatched seams, unevenly pieced blocks and messy star points. I am so disappointed and can't believe that these basic factors were not picked up before the book was published.
POSITIVE: In the book, there are also 40 four-patch and nine-patch star blocks that are made by templates (provided accurately on the CD in various sizes), so the book will still be useful for these.
I have turned to "Carol Doak's Simply Sensational 9-Patch Stars" which is a very well written book on paper piecing nine-patch stars. However, this is limiting as I particularly wanted to try my hand at foundation piecing spinning stars and whirligig blocks.
