This story of life in Castro's Cuba and the tenacious struggle to survive is a great read. The characters are compelling as is the story of their struggles. It is an exciting tale that will teach adults and young adults about Cuban history around the time of the Mariel boat lift

This story of a boy's struggle to rescue his family from castro's cuba kept me spellbound! With black magic and a villain who tries to ruin the family, it has all the ingredients of a real page turner! I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.
5.0 out of 5 stars Ignites the readers five senses! 23 Feb. 2015
By ebookluver - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I received an ARC for an honest review. Honestly - this is an easy 5 star post. Tonii Marie Kelly creates words that ignite the readers five senses. Perfect occult thriller for agest 15 to adult.

You feel first hand what life was like in Cuba in 1980...sometimes raw, sometimes humorous, sometimes shocking but always a page turner that hits home for all nationalities.

Can't wait for what happens next - while the book is not a cliff hanger - you will want to learn more!
5.0 out of 5 stars Antonio’s Glove is a good read for any young adult 5 Mar. 2015
By diane Crosse - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Antonio’s Glove is a good read for any young adult. Written from the point of view of a young teen boy living in Castro’s Cuba in the late 1970’s. The characters are well developed, and draw the reader into the history of how living in Cuba during the revolution changed everything.
This is good reading, young adults and adults will enjoy.
5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping historical fiction 2 April 2015
By Eli Wixman - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This is a page turner and an enthralling read. The Mariel boat lift was a unique event and Antonio’s Glove offers insights into the historical facts surrounding Cuba’s release of 125,000 refugees. Kelly shows the different ways that life in Cuba was becoming increasingly oppressive. Without portraying the characters as victims, she shows how easily an innocent remark or gesture could be interpreted as anti-revolutionary. The characters are complex and realistic. Their family interactions and emotional struggles speak to any culture. These struggles make Antonio's Glove a wonderful coming of age story for boys as well as girls and a gripping piece of historical fiction.
